Home of The Original Golden Tenders, Golden Chick is a fast food restaurant chain offering Golden Fried or Roast Chicken, Fried Catfish, Sandwiches, Fresh Salads, Yeast Rolls and a variety of Sides.
Is rare I would review fast food but w/ family in La Grange every time we visit we eat @ Golden Chick (none in Houston area) & always great. Their tenders & rolls (always get an extra dozen for the road!) were the best.Last two times over last few months we ate there not as tasty. The rolls too sweet...almost an "artificial" sweet flavor. And the tenders a little dry/little too much breading. Not sure if they changed recipe or cooking directions or what but just not as good as it used to be.If anyone from Golden Chick reads this please re-examine your recipes/cooking methods...if anything changed PLEASE go back to the old way so I can review again & bring it to 5 stars...the rating I would have given you 1+ years ago!

We walked into another local popular Mexican restaurant and left immediately due the noise and the crowds. We stumbled upon this humble restaurant. The interior is very modest so don't expect a "trendy" atmosphere. The food was delicious and served hot in a relaxing, quieter environment which we appreciated. The prices are reasonable and the staff friendly.

My wife and I rode out to the Holman Valley Steakhouse on a Friday night to try it for the first time. The owner, the waitress and staff were all extremely nice, but the quality of the steaks were not equal to the pricing. The steaks were cooked properly but were tough and small when compared to the $24 pricing.

Looking for inspirational local BBQ? Then step onto The Back Porch, La Grange's newest, locally-owned restaurant serving up the finest brisket, pulled pork, sausage, baby back ribs, burgers and side dishes this side of the Fayette County line. Now open fo
Have visited this restaurant several times, most recently 5 days ago. Food and service has been consistently good each time. Nothing especially outstanding but good solid experience. I am a "jack be lean" when it comes to meat. Biggest negative to me at the Back Porch is their brisket is served moist and lean. Half meat and half fat. Though brisket is my favorite BBQ, I normally order their chicken and pulled pork instead. Good value at reasonable prices.

We stopped for a quick lunch. We had cheeseburgers. They are hand made with a homemade bun! Very good! My wife had fries( frozen) and I had green beans. The green beans were good as well! Not overwhelming, but much better than the Golden Arches!!!

Stopped in today for our rookie visit. Reminded me of shopping with my Grandmother in the meat market many years ago. We enjoyed the brisket and sausage. Highly recommend both. My wife also enjoyed the macaroni salad and I devoured the mustard potato salad. We enjoyed it so much, weâre going back before we leave town.

My husband and I ate here while staying in LaGrange overnight. I had the turkey bacon club on marbled rye and it was very good. My husband had the special which was lasagna with a side salad. He said his was âokayâ. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. Not busy so service was prompt. Would eat here again. Hey There! Thank you so much for deciding to come to Rebaâs while you were here! We want you to have the best experience you can possibly have, so we are looking forward to serving you again soon! From all of us at Rebaâs, Thank you!

Should have known Friday night rush! Got seated right away....should have been 1st clue! Stuck us in a freezing dimly lit alcove w/booths, booths made for I donât know who but not grown average adults! Then the waitress took forever to come to the table and when she did she was more interested in the new people coming in than helping us! Ordered oysters on the half shell they were great, service sucked took about 15 min to get the oysters, she didnât take out dinner order until she brought out our oysters. We didnât order anything extravagant fried shrimp & filet mingion w/lobster tail. 35 minutes to get dinner! However the couple that came in when she took our order, well the manager seated the couple and told the (she seated them in the booth in front of us) couple it would be just a minute and theyâd get their order! 10 min after they ordered the manager brought out their meal!! Seriously! Donât even get me started about the wait for our bill! 18 minutes to take our card, walk & run it & come back?? Canât believe this place! Taking advantage of people! Best thing that happened, elderly woman sitting near us, well she had a margarita while we were sitting there, didnât realize she actually had ordered until she finished her drink and they took away her glass! She asked where her food was! 20 min later this poor woman finally got her food! When she was done they cleared away the dishes, she sat patiently waiting for her check! After about 15 min of waiting, she got up & leftserves the place right! Will never go back and never recommend.

Our first visit here, and it was a Wow Experience. Starting with the classic early 1900s Building, and Texas Chic antiques and License Plates. We were greeted by a friendly and high-energy host. A large open Dining Room and Bar. And, the place was packed. While the menu varies from Steaks to Sandwiches to Pasta to Seafood, You must, of course, try a steak. My wife ordered the Ribeye Special. All Steaks here are handcut and marinated. It was Superb. Cooked to perfection. Moist and nice Grill flavor.I tried the Special Seabass over Rice Pilaf. Again, a great choice. Skin on, flavorful and flaky. All dinners come with a sumptuous Salad Bar, also. With a large Pot of Dense Pinto Beans. My Son had his standard order of Grilled Cheese Sandwich, he gave it Two-thumbs-up!Desserts are housemade, and we had a very nice Banana Pudding.Large portions, friendly and attentive servers.Plenty of Parking, credit cards accepted. Reasonable prices.Definitely more than worth the country drive.
