Itâs probably better based on the reviews, but it wasnât this day. The help was less than friendly, and our first try at ono fish and chips wasnât fresh (itâs usually great we found out elsewhere). Maybe on a better day with a friendlier staff would do better. This clearly seems to be a local favorite, but it was disappointing for us - the food trucks were better and nicer too.

My husband and I went to Cuatros with another couple (BYO Wine for a $10 corking fee).Crab Cakes appetizer super tiny (4) crab cakes to share and steak app kinda tough and bloody that nonetheless could not fill any size person. All of us got the nightly fish special that came with rice and a couple of green beans for the price of $39.99! Granted we brought our own wine, but to pay that much then go home and still be hungry after apps and a meal? We are locals, brah, wha??Suffice to say we will not make a return visit. Sorry.

Serving up "ALOHA," all day long. We pride ourselves with preparing our meals fresh everyday, homemade sauces, organic farm to table salads, in house roasted macadamia nuts and your order cooked individually for you while you wait. Just a 100 yds away fro
Very friendly and prompt service. The mahi mahi was generously-sized and served with brown rice and a nice salad (with feta, nuts, seeds and a light dressing). The lemon and dill sauce was really tasty too. A tasty and very satisfying meal at a friendly establishment. Conveniently there is foil at the front so you can take away and keep your meal warm.

Perfect place to stop on your way down from the summit of Haleakala. Great prices and great food. Casual atmosphere. Lots of covered seating. They have breakfast and lunch items. Interesting, Hawaiian inspired menu items. My 10 yr old twins really enjoyed the Maui BBQ pork quesadilla. Green tortilla, stuffed with tender roasted pork. It was a large portion. They could have shared 1 order, but then there would not have been enough to share with the rest of us. My husband and older son ordered the Maui beef tacos. Street taco size. The order comes with 2. Must have been good. They were gone fast.I ordered the Maui Taro Burger. Veggie burger made with taro. It was delicious. Tender, moist with great flavor. Had a bit of a kick to it. It was covered with perfectly grilled onions and had generous slice of melted cheese on a Hawaiian roll. My only complaint would have been the fact that they had run out of several items. They were out of the chili, they did not have enough lemonade for all of us. While we were eating we had heard they had also run out of the tacos. We had arrived right about noon. I know they get a lot of traffic from the groups riding bikes down the volcano, but I would not expect them to have run out of several menu items so early in the lunch hour.

If you're hanging out up country after seeing the summit, heading over here is a great place to grab a burger for lunch. It's right across from the winery where you can go taste some.....interesting...wines. Also nearby is the lavender farm, not far from Kula where you would turn off the main highway back down. Makes for a neat afternoon after visiting Haleakala.

We had a very good breakfast in Kula (upcountry) at Sandalwoods Restaurant. The portions were very perfect and tasty. The Portuguese sausage was an interesting touch to normal bacon and eggs breakfast. Very good coffee and amazing views from the porch. This a nice place to stop on the way to the crater park or just take a break from the beaches. The upcountry is MUCH cooler and quieter. I heard the lunches are great here too and not expensive. We would make this a regular stop on the next visit to Maui

Born and raised on the Island and visited Kula Lodge a few times. 30+ years later and I was not impressed. Our server was far from polite or accommodating. She seemed to ignore our table quite frequently and tended to the tourist. The food portions are small compared to other competitors and not as tasty. We had to flag her down for coffee or water refills and each time she seemed agitated.Very disappointed as I have not been back home in almost a decade and we are treated as if we are not able to afford this luxury of a meal. It wasn't what I remembered it to be so no lost on my part and at least I know I won't be returning. Just a comment, it's not what it use to be so to me, no lost as I won't be returning in the future. Only positive, view outside the back of Restaurant.

When you come on up to visit us at Ulupalakua, you'll find it's not just about the drive. These days, it's about the food. "We're becoming a food destination," says Will Munder, Executive Chef of Ulupalakua Ranch Store & Grill. Mosey up to the counter, an
After a morning visit to Haleakala National Park in the morning and a few more site seeing stops along the way Westward, this place is must do for lunch. Their small but fantastic menu of farm fresh meats from the ranch is just amazing. We had been here 5 years ago and I enjoyed an incredible elk burger, but they were out this time, but to my pleasure, enjoyed a venison hamburger steak. To me honest, I regretted not getting it as a burger, but it enjoyed it all the same. They grill up a generously sized venison patty cooked perfectly at medium rare.I was also very pleased with their version of macaroni salad. It was the normal bland mayo, pasta, and a few shreds of carrot. It was a tasty and well prepared salad side that went well with the meat. There was also a lilikoi cheesecake bar that was very good. They don't make it themselves, but it is from friends of the owners, so all local. After you grab a bite, walk across the street to MauiWine and enjoy some local spirits. If you arrive at 1:30pm, there is a walking tour of this historic estate that is very nice and informative. This is a must do for sure and really recommend it.

We stopped here on our way back from a trip up to Haleakala National Park and had a fantastic meal. The food and service were excellent. We had the best coconut shrimp we have ever had and the fresh fish( Monchong) sandwich on focaccia bread was delicious as were the Kalua pork egg rolls. The menu is extensive with many fresh fish specials and Italian dishes. The homemade desserts looked wonderful however the meal portions were so large we did not have dessert.

We had dinner here on our last night in Maui and were very pleased. The food, the service and the view were all quite superior. They also had live music.
