I got the enchiladas rancheros and it was very good. They were part of the $6 meals on weekday lunches. There is enough food for one person to be full. Although the restaurant is near an abandoned gas station and a near abandoned Rhodeway Inn it is open.

Enjoyed the brisket and the potato salad was awesome! When ordering at the counter, I asked the owner (who was in front), about his potato salad. He did not hesitate to bring me a sample! So I ordered it and the brisket. The brisket was soft, supple, and had the right amount of smokiness. The owner informed me that unlike many other bbq places, they have a real pit in the back that gives it the flavor. The food was enjoyable. Wish they offered a good beer to accompany it, but they do not sell alcohol. More of an authentic down home food place without the frills. I will return again.
Popular little drive in hole in the wall. This is probably the only place in Kingsville to get fried Gizzards. Walk up to the window or go to the drive through. I like the food, it's quick and hot. Seriously a little hole in the wall, no frills. Picnic tables out front. We stop in every once in awhile to get our munchies. Will continue to visit
American and Mexican cuisine. Daily Lunch specials and Happy Hour. Full bar, 20 beers on tap, and an open game room. Open until midnight. Wednesday night Pud Trivia, Thursday night Karaoke, Friday and Saturday Live DJ, Paper Chase.
This restaurant opened in April, and I have been here twice with consistent results. Personally, I find that I enjoy patronizing establishments that treat me like they know me; like they know I will be back to visit in a week or so and want to make my visit a happy one. In my many years of enjoying eating and drinking out around the globe, I have come to the conclusion that my best experiences are not only where there is good fare and libations, but where I am treated like a regular. Green Jay is one of those placesMy server, Ben asked me questions about what I was wanting to eat and drink. He shared information about the things he thought would please me. He brought chips and salsa that were delicious with a Sierra Nevada Summerfest draught. He did not rush me, but would have gladly- had I been in a hurry. He brought me another beer and when I told him I was ready to order he suggested the Chicken Fried Steak with Country Gravy. The food was hot and tasty. While I am not an aficionado of Chicken Fried Steak, it was softer than what I expected and not greasy. The meat had a definite beef flavor and was not over-breaded or oily, as many are. The gravy was a quintessential white gravy with a hint of mild black pepper and no clumpiness. It was accompanied with a side salad, Texas Toast, and steak fries and more than enough for even big eaters. The owner stopped by my table to ask how things were and if I needed another beer. Neither he, nor the server were pushy nor intrusive as I watched several ball games on the tvs. Both stopped by multiple times to check that I was happy with my dinner and service and chatted like we were old friends. There is even a pool table and darts if one is in the mood after a meal and plenty of space for large parties. I like this place- and again, I won't hesitate to return, wherever I am treated well.

Overall, Big House BBQ is average barbecue. The combination plate only provided one rib, a small amount of brisket, and a small piece of chicken. The barbecue sauce is provided in a small ramekin. There is no variety of sauces and it was not very good. The baked potato with brisket is huge and is enough for two or three people. It was decent. The grilled chicken salad was a very good size and quite filling.

The salad is awesome. Plenty of avocados, nice lettuce, great dressing. The shrimp cocktail is amazing...the red sauce is unique and delicious - again with avocado. The barbeque beef was very lean, therefore a little dry...all the portions are huge! I would go here for every meal while I was in town.

You can not go away from Kingsville without having a Texicalli from here. Nice environment, very particular and very well served. Personal pizas are very good, handmade and excellent. Famous people have been eaten in this restaurant and they have pictures everywhere.

I had a phosphate soda and a chicken sandwich, while my husband enjoyed a fantastic hamburger. All the locals were there. It is a very friendly place. The pharmacist is quite a dashing gentleman. I'm sure the hand-spun milkshakes and malts are fantastic is you can afford the calories!
