Reviews on American food in Kennebunkport, Maine, United States. It took George H.W. Bush to make Kennebunkport known to most of the country, but New Englanders have enjoyed this quiet coastal Maine town for years. In hot weather, beaches are a major draw, but Kennebunkport's many small boutiques, art galleries and restaurants make a visit fun at any time of year. Inveterate shoppers may want to combine a visit to Kennebunkport with a trip to nearby Kittery, where dozens of outlets and factory stores offer plenty of bargains.

We stopped by Hurricane for a quick lunch and were not disappointed. We were seated at a window table overlooking an inlet and the tourists bustling across the bridge in downtown Kennebunkport. We both had the lobster chowder, which was excellent. Very tasty with chunks of very fresh lobster and potatoes. Will definitely return!

Had a delicious Lobster Roll with delicious potato salad. My husband had chicken and fingerling potatos. Service was so pleasant and efficient, prices were quite reasonable; even though it was a busy night at the restaurant, the waitress was attentive and knowledgable. We had spent more than twice the price the night before in a 'fancy' place in Ogunquit only to be disappointed by the extremely slow service and even some of the food. I'd return to Alisson's ! Arrive early (pre 5 pm dinner hour) for little or no wait.

My Wife and I have dined here a few times. Some of the elegance is gone. I hope for the owner sake it was the chefs night off, Monday, labour day. All of our courses were subpar. Average food, snack shack quality. My dish was the nightly special. It was drowned in a salty overly rich sauce the vegetables were either undercooked or over cooked, no culinary skill brought to the pan. The price was high. Too high for the quality. Our check was similar to our prior evening meal at Ocean, which was a delightful experience. The decor is lacking the ambiance we recalled, the service was diner style.Sorry, no surprise a reservation was easy to get.

Lovely atmosphere, sets the mood for âdinner in the forest meets stary nightâ..ambiance sets the stage for a fabulous meal. Excellent service and then there is the food..mushroom stroganoff on a bed of tasty mashers and a dash cornishons..rich and decadent. Save room for dessert, so good. Good Evening Kitty, We are so glad you enjoyed both the cuisine and ambiance, the Stroganoff is new to the menu and has become a big hit. We hope to see you again next season! The Team at Hidden Pond

Amazing evening for my husbands 70th-anniversary dinner with another couple. We ordered off the menu, 4 courses and ordered bottles of wines off the menu. The service and food were impeccable. I had the bone marrow appetizer and the lobster main absolutely delicious! Reasonably priced for a magical evening! Highly recommended for a special evening.

This is a gem. The food is creative, fun, well prepared, and only with the very best ingredients. The atmosphere is surprisingly casual for a place with such high quality food, and the prices are entirely reasonable. As good as it gets in Kennebunk.

We celebrated my husbands 60th birthday here. When I made the reservation I told them of our celebration and we were seated at a terrific corner table looking out to the water and garden view. Before dinner we sat on the porch for a drink and to take in the amazing views of the water and rocky coast line. Our dinner was delicious enjoying steak and monk fish. The presentation was perfect and the service throughout our meal was top notch. At the end of our meal they presented a happy birthday sorbet dessert for the occasion which was a nice way to end a very special evening.Dear Soulonthewater,We are honored you chose to celebrate such a special evening with us. Sitting on the porch before dinner is something we highly recommend. The views are breathtaking. We are glad you enjoyed the table and the food. It is also great to read that the server was able to make the experience even more special for you. We hope to have you dine with us again.Warm Regards,Miranda Wilson

Very unpretentious place with an emphasis on lobster. When we walked in, the place was so quiet. There is no piped in music and diners were concentrating on their lobster. My husband had a whole lobster and I had a lobster roll. Good service and great lobster!!

Walked here to have a quick drink. Ended up staying at the bar and thoroughly enjoying drinks and some food. Also enjoyed watching Sam mixing drinks- amazing, multi-tasking bartender. He made the place great! Also, delicious shishito peppers and burrata salad. Would go back in a heartbeat

Modern American Maine cuisine with emphasis on fresh seafood. Great view of the Atlantic Ocean as the Restaurant sits over the water. All tables come with a water view as windows are floor to ceiling. Kitchen has been carefully assembled with world class
The location on Porpoise Cove is away from the throngs of downtown Kennebunkport. The food, the service the view were all excellent. The clam chowder was delicious, as was the salmon salad. We enjoyed Andrea, our waiter from Serbia. He was very solicitous. It has the same menu as the restaurant downstairs that was much more casual and not as nice. We made the right choice.
