Rosie's Restaurant was recommended to us by the Woodland motel where we recently stayed. It is charming and serves humongous portions of delicious food. We ordered the pork chop special of the day which included not one, but two pork chops, veggies, potato, a roll or biscuit, soup or salad and ice cream. Next time we'll share one meal! Rosie, who has owned the restaurant for 34 years, stopped by our table to greet us and make sure our meal was perfect. All of the staff were attentive and friendly. We can't wait to stop in again the next time we are traveling to Portland!

Came back to town for the annual all-class high school reunion, and stopped for lunch with classmates at the Cornerstone. Our medical service dogs were welcomed, and the wait staff fawned over them. Joe McKay would be appalled.Food was good, service was prompt, and the feeling of being 'home again' was great.

We were excited to try this restaurant. So beautiful from the outside and on the river. Beautiful building but the music was so loud we couldn't talk with the family we were meeting. Food took over an hour to get to the table after ordered, part of it was cold, food didn't have much taste. Waitress was good at filling our drinks but didn't tell us till we were there an hour that the kitchen was running behind. We won't be back.

McMenamins has been around for a number of years primarily in the Portland area. They are well known for taking old run down buildings and converting them to restaurants and hotels. They use eclectic materials and local artists to create unique and interesting places to eat and stay. In their restaurants they primarily serve pup type food along with their own beers and wine. This one in Kalama is somewhat different from all their other places. First of all the building is right on the Columbia River and the building looks old but I think it was built new. Inside however it is still decorated in typical McMenamins style. Keep in mind that this is also a hotel. They still have a lot of the same pub fare that is in their other places but their menu in Kalama is a little more diverse and up scale. I had Flank steak with mashed potatoes and green beans that was good. You canât go wrong with any of their beers but I like the Hammer Head. Be aware that this place is located in an industrial area near the river and I found it very confusing to locate.

We stopped for breakfast and had a pleasant meal. The half order of biscuit, sausage, egg, and gravy also came with hash browns. It we very good and more than enough for the average person. The over medium eggs were not overdone. We will stop here again.

Ate lunch with my family of 8 and no reservations on Sunday afternoon. The staff was very attentive even though the place was quite busy. We all ordered different things- liver and onions, steak, fajita, soup and salad, taco salad, salad with chicken on it, vegetable omelette, burger and tater tots. It all looked good, tasted great, and everyone was happy. The server took my plate while I was still eating, so I chased her down. That was actually kind of funny. We were celebrating birthdays and an anniversary, so received a complimentary dessert. We lingered a long and time and no one chased us out. A fun afternoon.
