Every meal I've had there has been excellent from hamburgers to the daily lunch specials. Great prices and generous portions. Each meal is cooked to perfection and served nice and hot.. Chicken Speghetti! Pork chops~! Fried catfish (whole or filet). Just some of the choices they offer. Each served with a whole array of fresh veges and corn bread. Also a choice of pies for desert. This food isn't just cooked. It's seasoned with the perfect spices and love.Mr. and Mrs. Henderson are long-time, well-respected Jefferson residents. This community wouldn't be the same without them. Please support their efforts in this wonderful business. Everything's "to go". So it's a great place to pick up a lunch for a pic-nic.

Nice, Clean, Comfortable. Room was great. Food was very good. Veranda was a joy. Sat in the rocker crocheting for hours. Short walk to the good places in town. Pet friendly. I just loved the house dog. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!! Most definitely we return when I come that way again. My family that lives near by always wants a gift certificate or Breakfast at the Carriage House for their Birthday.

Under new owners! It has been completely remodeled and reopened. Come in and see for yourself and give us a try!
I can't actually review the food because we couldn't get served. The waitress got our drink order and brought it. We asked for another minute to make our decisions on what to order. The waitress never came back to our table, despite us making eye contact and motioning to her. She stood at the cash register doodling for a while. When I caught her eye that time, she actually turned her back on me. That was when we walked out.

Ate lunch here on a slow day. Nice selection of salads, sandwiches and entrees. They offer a vegan menu as well. The tuna salad and chicken salad sandwiches were very good, the bread was awesome. The French dip was also good. The ingredients seemed fresh. The only disappointment were the fries. They were obviously frozen, bland and were mushy. Other than that we enjoyed our meals and the service was good.

Smoke Free in an Olde World Setting. Wines and Craft Beer from around the world accompanied with great steaks and fine food. Live entertainment and Mixed Drinks.
Great staff and great food and great entertainment. A few times we have ventured to a different place, been disappointed and got a reprieve at The Knightlight Tavern. For instance, yesterday things were just not going right. All we wanted was to shop, stop by another place for drinks and a snack, but were disappointed. We went to the Knightlight and everything went perfectly: it was like magic: everything was suddenly better once we got there. I donât know why we ever bother trying these other places around town because weâre always disappointed and we ALWAYS wind up at The Knightlight! Thanks, Richard!Thank you for your continued support!

We have been coming to Auntie Skinners for the past 10 years and it seems to be going down hill every time we go. The place needs a little care. This is a smoking restaurant and you do smell like smoke when you leave. Overall I would give it a "B"

In the heart of the tourist action with antiques all around. The front wall was open and most pleasant in the nice weather. I had a sausage lasagna and it was excellent but the caramel muffin was a very nice surprise. Quaint and the staff was outstanding.

We frequent all types of restaurants, from Chili's, Olive Garden, Jimmie Johns, Panera, 54th street, to Ruth Chris and other high end places. From a $40 night out for 2, to $200+. Valentines day is our anniversary, so we always try to go to a better place for it. This past valentines day was our 31st, so we went to a B&B in Jefferson Texas for a couple of days, and had a great time. For our anniversary dinner we went to what we believed was the best restaurant in Jefferson. Even made reservations almost a month in advance, We arrived, ordered wine, checked out the menu (Fixed priced for the holiday which was fine), and my wife ordered the Stillwater Salad, which was good, and I ordered the Greek Salad, again, very good. Both of us ordered Filet of Beef. Now. as we're ordering our entree, the server (who was very pleasant), was already asking us for our dessert selection. Now, even if we go to a lower end restaurant like Chili's, NO ONE ever asks us if we want Dessert until we are done with the meal (now, yes, dessert was included in this meal). So, we found this very weird, and disappointing for a high end restaurant. At a better restaurant, celebrating a special occasion, you expect to take your time, enjoy your meal, and worry about dessert at the end. We told our server we don't know what we want for dessert at this time. After all, what seems like a good idea before you take your first taste of salad, might not be a good idea 90 minutes later after you're full from a delicious dinner. So the server takes our order and we get our salad and entree. Now, mid way through the meal, the server ask us AGAIN, what we would like for dessert. We did not appreciate being asked again, while eating, however, we told her Cheesecake, and we'll take it to go. So, she said she'll box it and put it in the refrigerator. SO WHY WAS IT SO IMPORTANT TO ASK FOR OUR ORDER, IF YOU'RE JUST GOING TO PUT IT IN THE REFRIG ANYWAY? I would expect that a place that is booked with reservations, would know how many of each desserts to have ready for dinner. Are they asking me at 7pm, so they can bake it fresh and have it ready for me at 8:30pm? I doubt it, if you read the menu enclosed, I didn't really see anything that was complicated and to be baked especially for us. Now, if maybe there was short on some items, and the server said something like "Just so you know, we are low on Cheesecake tonight. If you would like that, I can take you dessert order now, and place it on the side so you have it when ready". No, that was not the case. There was a couple of other service related issues that we were not expecting at a place like this, but the dessert issue was what really bothered us. We were even thinking that we were trying to be hurried out, but found out that was not the case. As it turns out, this is the policy of this restaurant, as per their owner. I've checked with many friends since, and everyone agrees, you do not ask for dessert when ordering your salad. A few people have experienced this before, but like us, did not like it. The restaurant was very nice. The food was delicious, the server was very pleasant, however, that policy that the restaurant has regarding trying to get your dessert order during the meal is not acceptable, but the owners seem to think otherwise. Don't plan on having any more Anniversary dinners in Jefferson, will stick with reliable places in the Dallas area that encourage us to relax, take our time, and enjoy every bite before the next course comes out.Bob, Thank you for submitting a revised review. I am relieved that the waitress did not see the original. However, this review gives the impression that we always ask for the dessert order as a matter of course. I think you now know, that was done only for the special Valentineâs Day menu, as a way to insure smoother service on a very busy night. In our personal correspondence, I apologized for any insistence by the waitress, and further conveyed my agreement with you regarding the inappropriateness of the practice. Unfortunately, she did not take your cue, that you would not be ready to consider dessert until after you had finished your meal. I am the chef, and obviously in the kitchen. When I learned of the instructions to the staff, I asked them not to inquire about the dessert order until the usual and appropriate time. We have a separate dessert menu which we offer during our regular dinner service.Apologies again for the service that you experienced that evening. Your grandiloquence on the whole event has left nothing out, expect for a few pertinent facts.I am pleased that the food, at least, did not disappoint you.Bill Stewart
