Things to do in Jacksonville
Customer service is nonexistent. Employees dress like vagabonds. Plenty of grease covered tables await customers. All products are way overpriced. This place will be lucky if it stays in business another year. The wings are absolutely horrible. Nine times out of ten the wings are horribly undercooked. They were this time as well. And they literally drench the chicken in sauce. This place is really bad.

Went right after lunchtime and got chicken breasts.....they scratched around through the tray and finally found a couple of very small ones......looked like they had been cut improperly. Greasy and cold is about all I could say about them. Horrible taste and soggy. The hired hands look a little suspect, because they yelled at each other the whole time I was there......I wont be back here as I don't think their chicken is fresh or cut properly. Portions of everything is very small.
We entered the restaurant about 45 min before closing. They had no chicken breasts or tenders cooked, said it would take about 20 minutes to cook if we wanted to wait. We ended up getting catfish and chicken livers (which they had to cook as well). Had no corn on the cob, no okra and no French fries. So we had mashed potatoes (tasteless) and corn fritters (tasted awful). What kind of place has no chicken prepared almost an hour before closing the inside of the restaurant. The drive through stays open later. The catfish was nothing but crust and paper thin. No meat in them at all. The livers were small and almost cooked hard and too well done......barely edible. The employees were just standing around chatting and didn't seem to care if they had no food to serve. This place sucks. I wont be going back. With this kind of service they will be out of business soon! Wake Up Chicken Express and get your act together! I'd hate to be trying to go through the drive through line as those folks were going to have to wait a long time for food.............as we did. And the food they get wont be very good.

Great lunch menu for a great price! Lunch was tasty, salad crisp and fresh, chicken moist and flavorful, and the pasta perfect!! Servers friendly and knowledgeable. Will eat here again after lunch runs.

Food was amazing but the coconut pie will make you slap somebody. Had the Cajun pasta and pie. Building is really cool as it used to be a jailhouse and some of the cell doors are still up!

We stopped in Jacksonville, Texas for lunch at the Legends Old-Time Burger Cafe during a road trip to southeast Texas. Their homemade burgers were excellent and a welcome change from the usual fast-food products in the big cities! We enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and were impressed with their US Military Wall of Honor. We would definitely eat there again!

Iâve never had better food! Everything was homemade, and very largely portioned! The lady that runs the place is so down to earth, and treats everyone who walks through her doors like family.
