We went here for my mom's 76th birthday. Lovely restaurant and views so has potential. Waitress was nice. Slow service but then you order more drinks while waiting for food. Chicken wings were fantastic. I didn't taste the mushroom poutine but it didn't look appetizing. Kim Crawford wine on $8 glass special was excellent. Caesars were good although sure didn't taste or feel any vodka in them. Mom didn't like her caramelized duck at all, she said it tasted burnt. I tried hard to eat the two little buffalo ribs with two little sweet potato rounds but it was seriously so salty, my mouth was burning. Thankfully, they removed the $36 charge for that off our bill. My sister really liked her salmon on quinoa dish. My BIL liked his burger and my nephew seemed to like his sliders. Mom got a complimentary dessert of toffee pudding which tasted like a store bought ginger muffin with a skimpy bit of sauce poured over. Glad we didn't pay for it! All in all, I would not go again. Thanks for letting is know about your experience ivanhoe. I'm glad we were able to correct the charge of the meal your mother had but of course we wish that she had a better dinner. Our desserts are all made here and generally receive great reviews so we're sorry to hear that it wasn't enjoyed. We hope that with all the other meals that were enjoyed that you will give us another chance as our standards in service and quality are definitely higher than what you experienced. Also, I'd welcome the chance to meet with you or discuss your experience further. Sincerely,Pete Bourke. 1.877.877.3889

we arrived at 615 and it was fairly busy which we expected being the long weekend. We only waited for 10 minutes for our table which was impressive the hostess got us waters right away and we waited for our waitress. After that it all turned to A TERRiBLE EXPERIENCE . We waited at least 10 minutes to get our drink order taken and then another 20 for our waitress to even take our food order. Once our order was taken we did not see our waitress or any other staff at our table for over an hour. We had to go to the hostess table to ask for refills of our waters. Two hours after arriving we still did not have our food or even an explanation as to what was taking so long. This is when we OVERHEARD STAFF telling people who were looking for a table that one of the fryers had crashed!!! Donât get me wrong I know that these things happen and it was out of the staffs control but what makes me the most angry is that in the entire time we were there waiting with a hangry 19 month old, 3 other kids and two adults who were starting to lose their patience and trying their best to keep the baby from screaming etc ( we spent lots of time outside) NOT ONE STAFF MEMBER came to give us an option to order something that would not require a fryer or even explain to us that the fryer had indeed broken down At this point other tables as well as us went up to talk to the staff to see how long it was going to be and the response we got was that they were trying but had no idea as to when it would be ready!Needless to say ourselves and at least 4 other tables walked out.

The guacamole chicken breast sandwich was outstanding. The accompanying yam fries were hot and crispy. The burger and onion rings were delicious as well. I would avoid the neon green margarita. Service was attentive and efficient.

The Birchwood Hours: Opened Tuesday - Saturday opened at 4:30pm Daily. Dinner orders must be in kitchen by 9pm, closed Sundays & Monday. Unfortunately do not do corkage at Birchwood.
We arrived for dinner and discovered that reservations are a must. Nevertheless, the hostess doubled checked their bookings and found us a table on the outdoor patio. A beautiful setting surrounded by flowers and pleasing decor. Service was excellent at all times. Our mains were a noodle bowl with prawns and chicken and a lamb shank with a variety of vegetables on a bed of mashed potatoes with a gravy sauce. Quality and quantity were very good. The cocktails were interesting, goods d reasonably priced. The mains were pricey, however quite acceptable given the overall quality and experience. This restaurant was a good find.
