Reviews on American food in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. High-speed, history and good old Hoosier hospitality are a few reasons to put Indianapolis on your list of great getaways. Sports is another. From the legendary Indianapolis 500 to the Pacers and the Colts, the city offers ample opportunities to view professional and amateur sporting events, take part in athletic events and visit sports museums. At the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Hall Of Fame Museum you can tour the famous track (try to reserve tickets if there is a race in town) or visit the museum dedicated to automobiles and auto racing. Other sporty museums include the NCAA Hall of Champions. To get in on some of the action, head to SportZone which features six acres of indoor athletic facilities the whole family will enjoy. Those less interested in sports, or with kids in tow, can still find tons to do in and around the city. History, art and other cultural attractions abound. Visit the Children's Museum or checkout the zoo. Stroll along cobblestone streets past 19th-century buildings in the Lockerbie Square District or visit any number of historic landmarks. Known as the "Crossroads of America," more interstate highways bisect Indianapolis than any other city in the country, making it an exciting and easily accessible destination.

This place hits all the right marks, from the atmosphere(totally steak, all the time!) to the decor (dark, busy, like all steakhouses should be!) to the food(perfect!). It is close to the Canterbury Hotel, another icon in downtown Indianapolis, and so is easy to find. If you are in Indianapolis I consider this a must to go restaurant--in fact on a relatively recent trip to Madrid, a restaurant claiming to be the oldest restaurant in the world had a list of the ten greatest restaurants globally, and St. Elmo's was on it. Go!Thank you for your review, Mark. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit with us and we are humbled by your kind words. Thanks again!

We LOVE Tinker Street! The food is always fabulous and so is the staff! Shrimp and grits and the burger are our favorites and we always get the soup.

We are a family friendly atmosphere. Limited seating, outdoor seating weather permitting. Very affordable fish and seafood fare. From sandwiches to po/boys,homemade sides, sauces and desserts. Fresh baked buns and rolls for every sandwich. Voted #1 Restaur
Just visited this establishment while traveling. Read about it on line and since we like seafood thought weâd try it. They do a very brisk business. You can buy your seafood to cook at home or eat in. Not a large place and probably can seat 30 people. Staff was cordial and efficient. A little on the pricey side but large portions. $35 for a frog leg platter and a shrimp platter. Drink extra and limited to a few Pepsi products. Hubby said the frog legs were good and the chipotle slaw just so-so. Not Spicy at all. We both got green beans, again OK and I had the Mac nâcheese. It was good and would probably pass inspection by kids. Not gluey. My shrimp were plentiful, 17 medium sized, with light breading but very peppery. I could not eat them all because I was full and after awhile the pepper was overwhelming. Cocktail sauce pretty good. Hush puppies were tasty... Doubt weâd go out of way to eat here again. This is not fine dining so if you donât like eating out of a plastic basket or styrofoam youâd better pass on by.

Our family of 8 ate here for breakfast. Everyone had something different and everyone enjoyed their food. We waited for over an hour to be seated, but once we did the service was excellent. I think it's a bit on the expensive side ($13 for a 3 egg omelette, $9 for a waffle)

We may be approachable, but we're anything but average. Here at Conner's Kitchen + Bar, we're bringing elevated comfort food, craft beers and cocktails to a hangout-worthy spot soon to be downtown Indy's best happy hour and weekend brunch destination.
I cannot imagine why this restaurant has a rating of 4.5. We are from near Indianapolis and came downtown for a concert. The concert was cancelled but we stayed anyway and had dinner at Conner's Kitchen. The server was very slow. He finally took our order after we waited a while even though the restaurant was not busy. We had to wait to get our food and drinks. Then we never saw him again for drink refills or to check to see if our food came out ok. Overall, the food was average and the service poor. Indianapolis has lots of great restaurants. Try somewhere else.I apologize you had such a poor experience, it sounds like we did not provide you with the standard of service to which we hold ourselves. If you can find the time I would appreciate the opportunity to hear more about your experience and be given the chance to make it right. My personal email is [email protected] please reach out if you have some spare time.-Jake Cotter, AGM

Stumbled into this place out of convenience. Initially concerned because it was not appropriately staffed. One overworked waitress who had been there for 15 hours! Other diners were incredibly rude to her, but she worked her tail off and had a pleasant attitude through a tough situation. Nice variety on menu, very tasty burger. Would definitely go back and hope they got the waitress some help!

Ruth's Chris Steak House specializes in serving aged USDA Prime steaks, broiled in a trademark 1800-degree oven and served on a plate heated to 500 degrees to ensure the steak stays "sizzling" hot. To experience fine dining at its best ⦠Just follow the s
First the bad news-donât order the berries with sweet cream for desert. It is a bowlful of sugar with a few berries on the side. Good news, the mozzarella and heirloom salad is very good with just the right richness of balsamic drizzled over. The best news is that the lobster vindaloo is by far the best Ruth Chris appetizer that I have ever had. All in all a typically above average experience. Just stay away from the berries and cream! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your Mozzarella & Heirloom Tomato salad and the appetizer. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us this review.

Quiet, sophisticated ambiance. GREAT menu. The food is excellent, everything truly is excellent. There are three ways to dine: 1) tasting menu with paired wines, expensive; 2) four course, tasting menu size portions with choices in each of 4 courses; 3) a la Carter.I chose the four course option at $65 and thought it was absolutely excellent. The 4th course includes dessert and our table had 2 of the 4 desserts, both were off the charts wonderful.Service is great. Everything is great. One of the best meals Iâve had anywhere in the world...and I live in Italy. For real. Donât miss it.
