Things to do in Imperial Beach
This kills me. I love all things Mike Hess, but this location was a bummer. We walked over to Hess after dining at SEA180 (well, we walked the pier, the stopped for cupcakes, then walked a bit more before coming back to the tasting room) on a beautiful San Diego Saturday afternoon. They were pretty packed when we arrived, but we were able to find a spot to relax while drinking our beer. The staff was friendly. The space in front of the taproom is open and fairly spread out. I liked the busy, happening vibe of the spot. So why only two stars? The TAP LIST! They literally had more guest tap brews than their own brews available that day. They didn't have Grazias on tap - or even in the fridge in a six-pack. The two that I spoke with at the front said they were busy brewing up more Grazias, but the North Park location was also out when my husband and I went a month ago, which is unreal. The guy pulling our beers said that was their fault, but how do you run out of one of your flagship brews for so long?I did have a Hop Cloud and a Claritas while we were there, but if it hadn't been for those two, I doubt I would've been able to find something to consume. I am a port/stout girl, but the Umbrix is way too strong for a day of dining and walking in the sun, so I had to nix that one. I don't know if we'll go back to this location, given we have two so much closer to us. I'm just so disappointed the tap list was so limited; it was the first time our friend had ever tried Hess, and he had to sample a guest brew because of the limited Hess variety.

We had dinner here, the server seemed to be new she wasn't familiar with the menu or drink menu..She was the only server there & the restaurant became busy after awhile which she seemed to handle..Food was served hot and portions were large..Tasty and seasoned right.

Red House Kitchen offering you a delicious breakfast spread with breakfast specials, we also have our delicious protein bowl. Exceptional Coffee, Clean American Cuisine. Located in Imperial Beach, CA
My husband and I tried Red House Kitchen today - delicious! The food tastes authentic, fresh, carefully thought out and made with good ingredients. Of course real eggs in the breakfast sandwiches, homemade dressing and sauces (including cilantro lime dressing and an excellent harissa aioli), all in a fun, relaxing environment. Floor to ceiling chalkboards with ample chalk for the kids, games, and laughter. The couple behind me was playing chess, the family next to me- Connect Four. I had the Farmhouse breakfast sandwich with chicken sausage and my husband had the RHKajun chicken sandwich with avocado, bacon and cheese with the same harissa aioli. Iâm torn if Iâll stick with breakfast next time or venture into burgers. They are half a pound and a little intimidating - but look phenomenal! They have sodas and wine and a nice selection of sweets to satisfy just about anyone. Weâll be back!

I had banana pecan pancakes they taste like banana bread. I mean they really out did it with the pecans. The pancakes were cooked w/ pecans inside and lots of pecans covered the pancakes. I wad glad that my server asked me before hand how many pancakes I wanted because the menu showed it w/ 4. That would have been too much to finish I still had a few bites left with only 2 pancakes. I didnt care for their grits and my server offered to take it off my ticket without me asking her to do it. I know now a days many places still make you pay for what you didnt care for. I was pleased with service, food, and price.

My husband and I had brunch yesterday. It was very busy as a result of the NFL playoff games. We were lucky to get a table quickly and the service was quite efficient. They offer an expansive menu with massive portions. Our waitress was Judy G. and she was most delightful and took great care of us. We will definitely return and highly recommend!

CBC Pier-Side --- A coastal migration has extended the Coronado Brewing Company empire to Imperial Beach, allowing visitors to the countryâs southernmost city and its namesake pier to enjoy a taste of our authentic, award-winning Southern California beers
Full disclosure: my exposure to Coronado Brewing before walking into their IB location was limited to the Orange Ave Wit. I knew they brewed much more than that, but the Wit was all I'd ever tried.I was missing out! I was too full to give their tap list a proper once-over but did help myself to a pint of the Salt Spray gose (it's a sour, so it was tart, but it was also quite juicy with a nice balance of citrus and a dry note that cut through the sour flavors).Their outdoor patio was full when we arrived, so we snagged a booth near the windows. It's comfortable inside, and they have quite a few friendly employees wandering around, swooping in to pick up empty plates and glasses as soon as your hand strays away.My friend did order the buffalo strips to gnaw on; I was too full for much more than a beer, but they smelled yummy. He did enjoy them, even though they made him sweat (I guess they were a bit spicier than he'd anticipated!)I'm sure we'll be back - maybe not this location specifically, but I'd bet money my husband will want to swing by another tasting room to sample the other brews.

Located in the Pier South Resort, SEA180° offers innovative cuisine and oceanfront dining in Imperial Beach.
A newish restaurant a bit off the beaten path. We thought it was great. Contemporary and thoughtful design elements and top notch service. Lovely big patio right on the sand. A little on the expensive side but it is a special kind of place. We enjoyed the grilled brussels spouts and cauliflower starter, the catch of the day entree and a pasta. All delicious. Lemon tart for dessert was particularly noteworthy. We are looking forward to a second trip.
