I went in here a couple of times looking for a particular person. The owners of the bar are american expats and couldn't be more friendly or helpful. The 1st time I went in it was pretty crowded, there was a game on a big screen TV. My next visit was with a friend on Oscar night Sunday when they generally close at 8pm...I had asked earlier if they might be able to get the show in English..they said probably...well, we had dinner reservation shortly after 8, but the place was quiet and so my friend and I had great drinks and conversation with the owners until it was time to leave. I would come back again here to hang out and get to know some of the local expats which I think is a big part of their business. A comfortable, clean and friendly bar!Thank you for taking the time to write a review! We truly want our customers to have a great time!

Sub's Station is a cozy little restaurant in Cotacachi that offers a variety of US-Style food and also some specialties created by our chef himself. We serve breakfast from 8.30 am to 11.30am. Fridays is Fish&Chips day, reservations are highly recommended
Nice addition to Cotacachi. My husband had the Italian Sub and I had the tuna with spinach both were good. The only downside was the chocolate milk shake which was delicious but contained small pieces of splintered wood. I showed the splinters to the waitress and she explained that they use an ice cream bar on a stick to make the milk shake and cutting the ice cream bar is how the wood got into the shake. Ok I know things like this can happen but disappointed in the response. I guess she was embarrassed. But the potential for swallowing small pieces of splinted wood could be serious. Hopefully they will be careful and change their preparation procedure. Needless to say I will not have a milk shake there again.

When we stumbled upon this place, the young waitress seemed a bit unhappy. We had been given long stemmed roses by some ladies in Cotacachi because it was the "Day of Smiles" so we gave one to this young lady who seemed unhappy. Her attitude changed immediately and she began smiling as well. The owner came out and treated us great as well. The salads were wonderful, and on a warm day, they were perfect. The wine is from a bottle (rare in Ecuador in smaller restaurants) and not a box. Free wifi.

This place is run by a husband and wife team from the US. The complex includes a bookstore, a custom shoe manufacture.a couple other small shops and a restaurant serving some good old american favorites. One Sundays they have a brunch which serves things like eggs benedict. I missed it, but I hear it gets pretty busy. The regular menu consists of lots of american standards like chicken pot pie...which they will also sell to you frozen to take home if you live here or have rented an apartment with kitchen..also chili, etc. Next time in Cotocachi I will definitely visit here again.

We are facing the Plaza de los Ponchos on the second floor, perfect for admiring the handicraft market, we have a balcony to take pictures and enjoy a coffee exelentes outdoor
Balcon de Imbabura is located at the Plaza de Ponchos. From the second floor it overlooks the plaza. This small restaurant serves Mexican style food at reasonable prices. We started with the nachos con carne and had burritos that were good. The pork ribs/ chop were just pork smothered in BBQ sauce and not great. The service was good and the food was alright. I'd give Balcon de Imbabura a solid "Good". The location is perfect after a busy time shopping, but there are better restaurants a little further away from the Plaza.

The best part of this restaurant for us was the staff - they made is feel like part of the family. The food is varied (ecuadorian, american, italian) so there is something for everyone including vegetarians. I enjoyed the horneado de chancho and the kids loved their nachos and bean dip. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Donât confuse the Solid Rock Restaurant with the Solid Rock Plaza (where it used to be located) We have been served innumerable breakfasts and lunches and every time we eat to great satisfaction. Huevos Rancheros stand out as does the tuna in avacado. Charming atmosphere on Leather Street close to San Francisco Square.
