Good breakfast food, great for being in a small town. Super busy when we went, we had a big group, but no problems with our orders. There is outdoor seating in the front of the restaurant, the facilities were clean, and there is a well stocked dessert counter with pies and cakes.

Mrs and I stopped in for a drink and meal. Gold Mine was about the only place open on a Sunday night after 8p so figured we'd give it a try for the 1st time. What a pleasant surprise! The inside decor is much better looking than the outside so don't let that scare you off. The guy behind the bar who also took or order and served us was fantastic. Super friendly and informative about the menu. We went with the Gold Mine Nachos on Tots & it sure did hit the spot! Rest of the menu looked good too. A bit spendy but heck, hard to find a quality dining experience and food in ID City, especially late on a Sunday so is what you'd expect. Look forward to returning soon!Thank you for the kind words! The Gold Mine hasn't always had the best reputation which is why many drive right on by. We took over in June of 2018 and change everything about it. New paint, new menu and a lot of new staff. A unique combination of Bar, Cafe and General Store. An eclectic menu that includes standard mountain fare and some surprising items like fried baloney sandwiches. Drinks are cold and the pie and cobbler delightful.This is actually in Featherville, Idaho not Idaho City.

Stopped for lunch after a day of snowmobiling. We all ordered the Philly Cheese steak sandwich. They were out of green peppers and mushrooms, but it was still delicious. Fries and tots were cooked to perfection. They also have fry sauce. A staple in Idaho.Definitely will eat here again.Great service also.
