It won't win any Michelin stars but it's a good enough fun place for burgers and better. The desserts are actually very good - especially the sticky toffee pudding. Pleasant friendly staff and a warm relaxed atmosphere. The house Merlot (from Chile) was a tad expensive but very drinkable. Would certainly eat here again as a post cinema or post bowling extra to complete the evening.

...but unfortunately, this didn't change my mind. Can't fault the staff, but the food....let's say you'd probably get better, even at the Linen House down the road (another franchise). Nice clean bright premises, with ample free parking - popular with families. Maybe I should have chosen something other than the steak, which was tough as old boots - not the best cut & a real challenge for my molars. The wine isn't cheap either. They would need to fix the seating as well, as the woman sat behind me - I don't know what she was doing - but every time she jumped about in her seat, it jolted me. We tried it out ourselves after she left & same thing - the seat is loose & needs fixed.

Title says it all, really.Buffalo Chicken wings were done in Frank's hot sauce, but it was nowhere near as hot as it should be. Also, no cleansing wipe provided with two sets of chicken wings ordered, which is amateurish.Meat Sizzler apparently comes with crispy noodles, whereas mine were a plate of sloppy vermicelli noodles with very greasy pulled pork.Sweet potato sides were not the warmest.Waited 21 minutes between our starter finishing and mains served.Air conditioning was way too cold, and very uncomfortable for a dining experience.No acknowledgement on the way out the door; no 'goodbye' or 'thank you'. Poor.Would struggle to reason for a return visit.

I just don't understand the reviews. I eat out a lot, plenty of trips to Belfast, London and elsewhere, and I enjoy a burger as much as a tasting menu.Bar Retro is part of the great Plough Group, and the offer here is simple, honest and well done.I have had wonderful family breakfasts (brilliant dry cured bacon), best burgers in the area (particularly the one with the dry cured bacon in it!), scones the size of a batch loaf, fish finger sarnies, Caesar salads (actually, about as far from a genuine Caesar salad as you could get, but theirs is a great guilty pleasure with about 1000 calories)What's not to like here? The place is full of young Mums buzzing away, retirees lingering over a cup of tea for half the morning and enjoying the free papers ( that's us, sometimes!), very important people in a hurry to do something important, students scoffing scones whilst being served by their class mates. The place is a lovely spot to spend a bit of time.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal this evening to celebrate my dads 83rd birthday. Food was delicious, steaks cooked to perfection as usual (Thank you John!) The service was excellent, staff very friendly and treated my dad with the utmost respect.Thank you to Chloe, Jack and Gavin who all made sure we wanted for nothing. And of course no birthday would be complete at Ed's without the hooting of the horn,a chorus of Happy Birthday singing and photo posing which actually made my dad quite emotional! Thanks again for a lovely evening.

Waiting staff were great, helpful from giving advice from food on menu to getting my child colouring books! Menu had a great, good range of food to choose from. Food was beautiful and reasonably priced, there wasn't a crumb left on our 3 plates!! Definitely be back!!
