My wife and I had a late dinner, about 40 minutes before closing and it was fantastic in spite of it being a late time and close to closing. I had a rack of ribs that were equal to the best rib joints I have eaten at anywhere in the country. The rib meat was tender and flavorful, portions were generous, prices were rock bottom low. These were not cheap ribs, they had lots of meat and they literally were falling off the bone. They offered a good variety of vegetable sides and they were excellent. Home made veggies that were hot, well seasoned and not out of a can just heated in a microwave. My wife's pork chop was absolutely perfect, which is harder to do than most people realize. The sides were hot and everything was obviously made to order not sitting around in steam pans all day. The staff was attentive, personable and a joy to interact with. There was another group eating when we were there and as they were finishing up and leaving the group were talking about how they owned a restaurant in Philly and talking about how great this food was. They told both servers and the cook that anytime they wanted to come to Philly they had jobs waiting for them. I totally agree - simple place, a really wide menu, good food, unpretentious staff, and that makes a dining experience that is memorably. You can take your Haute Cuisine and put it in your hat, in my opinion. Give me a family run restaurant with a staff that cares and the result is unbeatable. This is a an unfortunately disappearing small town tradition; a comfort food restaurant. My compliments. I hope if you are ever in the Poultney/Lake St. Catherine region of Vermont give Perry's a try.
Like standing in line in the hot sun while someone hands you a cone out the window from behind a screen? Then dairy-o is not for you, Dairy O is a spacious well air conditioned , indoor ice cream eatery. No big lines, Sit and relax. It is nicely decorated country style with retro tables. They serve hard and soft ice cream. The Hard Ice Cream is home made at the Manning Farm across the border in PA. It is creamy and rich and comes in many flavors. My favorite is Banana, mmm good! Not an easy flavor to find. A clean rest room is available on premises. The service is prompt and friendly & they will answer all your questions about products. A large freezer holds half gallons to take home with many of the same flavors at a 2 for $18 price. Hand packed ice cream starts at $2.99 for a small cup. There is plenty of parking in this rustic setting. I am an ice cream connoisseur and I prefer Dairy O to Belvale Farms which is in my town but too crowded and pricey. Malts, Shakes, Italian Ices are also available .It is very hard to top the quality of the ice cream.Great place to relax.

Busy day? Too tired to cook? Tapâs Is the best. Seat yourself on a comfortable deck chair (surrounded by flowers from a local grower) while you contemplate the menu. Farm to table food- the beet salad is one of my favorites along with a locally made veggie burger. Add a Fiddlehead draft and you have the perfect way to end a busy day.

We enjoyed a nice breakfast overlooking the sugar shack. The staff was very pleasant. Pancakes and waffles were delicious. Sausage was a tad spicy but our crew liked it! Home fries were boring, bland and super cold. Would definitely save the money and not order again. Maple cream samples were delicious as was the free coffee in the sugar shack. Maple cotton candy was fantastic. Be sure to get there early or you will be waiting.

Ottos is more of a little corner store with a killer kitchen for take out. Its open year round, but is busy during the summer season. Try the Christopher chicken sandwich! Soups are all homemade during the colder weather. If you like Starbucks style coffee, you will like Ottos. Its a stiff cup of coffee. People are pleasant that work there and the the front porch is nice to hang out in during the warmer weather.Mini golf for fun too.

Welcome to The Pawlet Station, a local spot serving up the best in home style cooking, great conversations & all the peanuts you can eat. Cozy up in our historic train depot or on our patio overlooking the Flower Brook, sip a mimosa or a cold beer & enjoy
This place is a great piece of history, as the building is from an old train station. Inside, you'll find country cooking and great wholesome food. They use as much local suppliers as possible, and it shows. Great corned beef hash, burgers and more. They are open for dinner too a couple of nights a week. In the summer, enjoy the outdoor seating. This is true local Vermont cooking. Eat where us locals eat!

This is a local restaurant for us. We went this past weekend for the first time in a while. We find the meals to be inconsistent. Sometimes great, other times just OK. The atmosphere is always fantastic. The place is clean and comfortable. The service was a team effort that was extremely smooth and efficient. We love the live music in the tavern on Friday nights where the drinks are always delicious. On Saturday night my french dip special, from the sandwich to the fries, was excellent. The eggplant dish was just OK, more of a salad than a meal. If you are looking for a fair priced restaurant with a great atmosphere give The Barn a shot. You can't miss if it's a Friday night in the tavern.

...a sweet slice of Vermont life. Delicious house made pastries, salads, and prepared foods, craft beers on tap, select wines, awesome ice cream from Island Ice Cream, co., catering, and locally made goods. Over 100 years of combined experience in the foo
Nice little general store with a few groceries, wine, beer, cider, books, ice cream, a deli counter where they make sandwiches, grinders and one day a week pizza, a drink cooler and some tasty snacks. Great magic squares and pies, I've had several kinds and all have been good. My only complaint is no vegetarian options on the menu of sandwiches so I'm pretty much forced to stick to deserts. Hi Normanhines,I just wanted to thank you for your kind review but I would also like to express my regrets that you were not able to find a vegetarian option to meet your dietary needs. We have some fun salads that we like to incorporate into subs and wraps that make nice vegetarian sandwiches. Might I suggest our edamame salad, or our Mediterranean bean salad with feta. Both are fantastic when we run it through the garden and put all of our veggies in a nice spinach or whole wheat wrap. We also encourage people to build their own sandwiches to accommodate their preferences. I hope you stop by again. Thank you! Juli

Edwards Market is a deli, bakery, butchery, and grocery store featuring local food and products. We do our best to feature local foods from vegetables to beef.
The deli/market opened first. Wonderful baked goods, excellent butcher shop, and good selection of drinks. Small selection of local vegetables. Sunday brunch is very good. Recently opened an adjoining restaurant which has become quite popular. Good menu, food, and service.
