Locals, travelers and tourists alike:This was such an upscale place from what I remember when my folks had a great brunch with our dental staff years ago. Beautifully decorated and with uptown flare, quite impressed with the performance of the restaurant wait staff. I almost think that we had an owner as the head wait staff. She was very good! The food quality was the best ever, however I do have to say the dessert was the only disappointment. Yes to be honest, the lemon cheesecake tart put a sour flavor on the end of the evening. Tastebuds were having a bit of trouble with the dessert. After all the incredible flavors which were mindblowing and creamy reduction sauce on the salmon, delicious! Wine list was so intense and luxurious. The real kicker was the salmon appy with the crusted salmon skin with maple purree glacee. Gently accompanied by and accented with grilled veggies and rice. A copious size of the fish. Sooooooooo scrumptious and decadent! Any critic would love this dish. Our friends had the steak frites, and chicken dish was so incredibly moist and tasty. The one who had the steak frites said it was so tender and best steak he'd had ever had. So to sum it up, eclectic and upbeat menu with a variety of different flavors and a plethora of recipes to tantalize your own tastebuds. Call ahead to make reservations. So worth the trip to Healdsburg!

Less than ¼ mile south on CA Highway 128 from Medlock Ames’ Tasting Room is the iconic, nostalgic and oh-so-photogenic part country store/part trendy deli that is Jimtown Store which received its historic landmark designation even before it opened in 1991. The property has been around since 1895 when Jim Patrick opened his eponymous general store located halfway between upscale Healdsburg and bucolic (in the best sense of the word) Geyserville. The current owner, artist Carrie Brown, and her late husband, John Werner (who had been a partner in the Silver Palate, a storied Manhattan food store that launched several famous cookbooks) lovingly brought the landmark back to life, opening on Memorial Day, 1991. Jimtown Store serves breakfast and lunch Thursday – Monday. Its menu includes lots of vegan options and no item costs more than $15. I absolutely loved “The Jimtown” sandwich which consists of prosciutto, Point Reyes blue cheese and the store’s own fig and olive tapenade on a French baguette (just $9). Whatever you do, save room for the chocolate pudding ($5); one food writer says everything that needs to be said, “Oh. My. God. This stuff is amazing."

This restaurant serves sharing plates, for those who prefer different tastes. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. At her suggestion, we ordered 4 plates (2 vegetables and 2 meat dishes) between 2 people, but even this was too much as the helpings were substantial. The peppers were okay until I tasted one which burnt my mouth! Most unpleasant. Next up was the corn followed by the scallops and chicken thighs (although judging by the colour and texture of the meat, it was probably breast meat). All tasted fresh and delicious. A reasonably priced meal.

Four of us had a late lunch here after tasting some delicious wine on the square. We did make a reservation which may/may not have been needed depending on the time of day and day of the week. I would make one just to be safe if you are able. Great location, great service and excellent food! The concept is small plates which can be hard to know how much to order, but per our server's recommendation, we each ordered two plates and we had more than enough food! Everything was absolutely delicious! I would absolutely return!

Visited last month with 4 couples and Valette was simply fantastic. Good wine list and everything our table had was simply great. Our server was exceptional and helped with wine selection as well. The owner and his father stopped in and checked on our meals. Just all around, tough to beat. It's not the cheapest place around, but the quality and experience was definitely worth it.

My wife and I were visiting the area to do wine tasting. We were looking for a place to eat lunch and found the Dry Creek General Store on the Internet. It was a good choice. There was a deli counter with lots of choices. And you could browse the store while waiting for your meal to be prepared. We split a delicious Turkey Cranberry sandwich and a tasty chocolate chip cookie.

We have come to the Geyserville Inn yearly for the past six years or so. The family who own the Inn also run the Grill as a separate business. The location and service as well as the food are excellent. Prices are quite fair. Breakfast is so good and the wait staff are always there when you need them. This is a fun spot if you are driving through and want a bite to eat. Nice bar and seating outside is good for any group or couple. Vineyards are across the street. TravelZoo was our option and we got a 2-1 breakfast coupon as well as a bottle of wine per night stay. Keep your eyes open for this type of deal. The front desk staff are very professional.

We have been there before and had a decent dinner but Sunday brunch left a lot to be desired. If the ownership wants to maintain a clientele they had better shape up. The Eggs Benedict, both regular and crab, was downright awful. The english muffin was so hard it could not be cut with a knife. The side dish potatoes were supposed to be cooked with other vegetables but they were totally overcooked and burnt. The hollendaise sauce was sparse, no flavor and watery. The bloody mary's were mostly ice with little vodka and the mix was so watered down you could not tell if it was tomato juice or mix. The $10/ was too high for what you received. The restaurant can do better, shape up.

All was great and would rate 4 1/2 but service was really good as well as beer so make it a five. Will be back to try more menu items soon.
