Things to do in Fortuna
We were there for an early dinner and received a friendly greeting upon entering. Walk up to a register to place your order from an overhead menu. Pay for the meal and seat yourself. Self-serve drinks. Our order was brought to us in a plastic basket. The sandwiches were well prepared and very hot. The buns were steamed - nice touch. I was pleased that the cook washed his hands before preparing our food, however, I did not see a beard net used while our meal was being prepared. Dining area and restroom is clean. Ample parking. I do have some concerns: the menu, which is at an uncomfortable height, contains so many choices that selecting a sandwich is very time consuming. There are two sizes of sandwich and all sides are extra. Make it a meal, add fries and a drink, for an additional $4+. We ordered two sandwiches, no sides or drinks. The price was nearly $18. There is a large TV screen on a wall that was showing very loud music videos. The unisex restroom is accessed directly from the dining area.
Stoped by this weekend and picked up a dozen Snicker Doodle cookies. Itâs a new place in town and upon entering most of the tables were occupied. Itâs small in there, but Feels bigger than it really is. And itâs nicely decorated. Offerings are Bistro type food,Quiche, muffins, Biscuits & Gravy, sandwichâsect. The staff is super friendly and eager to please. The restaurant is very clean and well run. Our cookies were amazing and quickly consumed. Downtown Fortuna really needed a place like this especially on Main St. there is no reason Anneâs wonât do well here, it looks like all the pieces of running a place like this are well in place and doing well! Stop by soon you wonât be disappointed!JC

stopped in this morning with my grandkids and had a nice breakfast. Two adults and two children, our bill was over $50. We had one biscuit and gravy, pancake with strawberries, omelet, side bacon, hashbrowns and toast. Hot chocolate at $3.00 a cup. I think it was a little pricey. Service was good.

Bistro serving breakfast and lunch. (707) 725-2361
This is a hidden little gem !! We totally missed this place the last season we were here, but since discovering we canât get enough !The breakfast items are all very good! My husbands favorite is the eggs Benedict !! I like the wraps.. The lunch sandwiches are always fresh and delicious as well as large portions. We would suggest the asparagus or green bean fries as your side, or an appetizer. The mimosas are to die for !!!

Thought this was going to be a Mexican Restaurant. It wasn't. The food was very good, portion size was very good also.

Fortuna's newest Steakhouse, seafood bar and grill. Open for dinner only. Full bar, cocktails, local beers on tap, domestic beers in the bottle, 30 different wines to choose from. Times Standard Choice Award winner for "Best Steak"
Portions are super large and always leave this place beyond full! No place serves soup, salad and bread with a meal anymore. not only does this place give you all of that- you get a antipasto plate and raviolis as an app as well! Drinks are pretty strong and tasty. Food can be a little salty. Weâve had the meatloaf and filet and ribeye and they all tasted over salted which was a bummer. Next time we had the chicken Wellington and the seafood plate that offered scampi, a pasta and friend shrimp and all of that was right! Just try to work on the saltiness of the meat and youâve got a great steak house.

If you want to taste a typical US dinner this is your place : lots of choices and big quantity! We had the omelett (very good) and fries (a bit too fat) and french toasts - coffee with free refill !

Reading trip advisor to prepare for this quick trip to the Redwoods this restaurant was rated highly for Fortuna.Must have been before current chef!On a positive note- the beer is excellent and the garden area and interior are quite nice. Very large parking area.Unfortunately the food is brutal. Totally overcooked and dry without any flavor. We arrived about noon, the counter at the bar pretty filled- appeared all were only drinking beer. Otherwise, there was one or two other couples who seemed to be finishing their meals. We ordered- one of their special burgers (blue cheese, pepper and bacon) which I ordered medium, and their fish and chips special. Three other groups then came in, including one of four that sat in the garden about 12:15. They looked at menus and then ordered. About 12:30 they were served and we still didn't have our meals. About 40 minutes after ordering my burger was brought out . Five minutes later my wife's fish and chips. I looked at the burger which was burned on the outside and ,when I bit into it, I found it to be more than well done and with absolutely no juices left so it was totally dry. My wife's fish and chips were clearly overcooked as well on the outside and she described the taste on "not fresh fish" and also very dry. These were both supposed to be their specials which makes you wonder if they were specials because they needed to unload old product. The waitress asked how everything was and I showed her the burger and said this doesn't look medium to me. She said no that is definitely overcooked and offered to bring another but since it took 40 minutes or more to get the first one we chose to not waste our afternoon waiting for a replacement. Condiments were limited to ketch-up which I don't use and regular golden's mustard out of an older plastic container. Given how dry the burger was I used some mustard which came out watery. I was a bit surprised nothing further was offered to make up for the food issue.
