Things to do in Fanwood
Voted 'best soups in NJ' by the Daily Meal (2018), Fanwood Grille quickly gained a reputation upon opening (2017) for homemade fresh foods prepared daily. It's "hometown cooking" to eat in or take to go.
awful experience - went for lunch and ordered gumbo. It looked good on the plate, from a distance, but was icy cold. Short answer is that all they do is microwave the food? Person working there explained that "yea most people think it ok" I watched them put it in the microwave, either a first or second time, for a few seconds. Ten minutes later they took it out of the microwave and the rice was warm but the sausage was still icy. I gave up and asked to to make it to go and I am looking for a homeless person to give it to - but that may mean, I thought gumbo would be moint, even soupy, but this was dry rice with sausage on it and a few strands of shredded chicken and one piece of pepper. The worst frozen food from the worst supermarket would have been better. All this on top of the 4 employees playing there instead of working. IT is so obvious that no one there cares - so I don't either. Just stay away

Our food is our passion at Moeâs Bistro & Bar. We always strive to provide our customers with exceptional cuisine and excellent service all in a cozy atmosphere. Enjoy sitting at our beautiful antique bar serving classic cocktails, old and new world wines
We had a very nice dinner here recently. There was a piano player, which was entertaining, the menu was very diverse, and the food and service were very good. It is close to our home, which makes it even more appealing!

We loved this place. It was Cosey and romantic. The staff was beyond friendly. Our waiter was amazing and was attentive. The food was delicious didn't mind spending the extra money. Our steaks where spot on and our waiter ask us twice if we needed anything and told us he wouldn't bother us and enjoy our meal, if we needed him he wasn't far. Great place for couples who want to just be together or spend a special occasion

We've been here many times, one of our favorites in Westfield (a great restaurant town)! Food is eclectic, and always delicious. offers a full bar, and service is friendly and anxious to please. Great place for lunch or dinner. There is live music later in the evenings.. on weekends, and maybe during the week, too.

We parked in the lot right in front of the restaurant, and a valet promptly and warmly welcomed us. Even though we were the first couple of a foursome to arrive, we were offered our seats at the table and promptly served a bread basket and water while we waited for our friends. How nice! We were given one of the coveted tables right by the window with the best view. When our friends arrived, we ordered a variety of appetizers and main dishes which were all excellent. Service by our waitress, Ronnie, was extremely professional and courteous. The ice cream sandwich desert was delicious, and the coffee was hot and rich in coffee flavor, a rarie to find in most restaurants today. Of great importance to us is that the dining room is very quiet and very conducive to conversation. No loud music like you find in too many restaurants these days. The bill was reasonable for the terrific experience. Based on this one experience,I would definitely return even though I donât live nearby.

Our philosophy is simple; to provide great food, exceptional value and friendly service to each and every customer we serve
Charlie Browns has been around forever for a reason itâs predictable. Itâs a good value and decent service for the meal you get! Letâs not forget the salad bar! Who doesnât like their salad bar! Always fresh and updated! The selection is endless or so it seems. The menu changes constantly (no exaggeration)! But the staples remain. The food isnât fancy nor does it pretend to be. The steaks may not be Peter Luger but then you arenât paying for that either. The meals are always consistent. The burgers are good, the Octoberfest wurst platter was delicious as was the sauerbraten. I always fall back on the filet minion.

So we thought we would try something different for breakfast. I wasted $$ on pancakes. The pancakes were gritty. Itâs like Romper Room on steroids. We donât mind children as we have our own.....but please put manners on them. The service was good and the coffee was good but avoid the food.

Finally decided to give Sheelanâs Crossing for dinner and really enjoyed the food. The menu is extensive with a variety of choices of appetizers, salads, entrees and sandwiches. For dinner we had the Raspberry BBQ Pulled Pork with sweet potatoes and chicken wings. The atmosphere is very homey and comfortable along with great service. Give Sheelanâs Crossing a try and you will not be disappointed. Looks can be deceiving by judging the outside of the restaurant. We will return for great food and to try the crab cakes, steak and other menu options.

This laid-back pub in Scotch Plains is a great place to go and grab lunch, dinner or a quick drink. The staff is very nice and the food is good too. I had a burger and had asked for well-done fries. Most places under cook the fries but this place got it right! And the food was very good. I recommend this place for a casual bite to eat or a drink at the bar.

This is a big location, including snug dining spaces, an airy barroom, and even a courtyard for outdoor dining, weather permitting. I went for the pan seared black bass, which was cooked just right, and served with an interesting mix of veggies that each contributed their own flavour and texture to the mix: fennel, broccoli rabe, roasted shallots, butternut squash, and mustard sauce â very nicely balanced, and well presented too.
