Really small place to eat and unfortunately smells the smoke from the casino next door. That's the bad, now the good. The shrimp po boy is a two meal size; filled to the brim and tasty. The shrimp are a little smaller than I like but the amount and taste makes up for it. the hamburgers are fresh, home made and very big; again a two meal size. Their fame is their wings but I haven't got past the po boys yet. The roast beef is my wifes favorite. Really good food, good service and friendly. If there were in a larger place that didn't stink the smoke they would make twice the money they are making know for sure.

Fried eggplant sticks topped with crawfish etoufee.....YES, please! We’ve never had anything here less than delicious, from the stuffed, topped baked potatoes to the fried foods, hamburgers, and that delicious crawfish etoufee. Prices are quite reasonable, too. Bring it on!

Rocky's Cajun Kitchen

I ended up ordering the fried crawfish stuffed baked potato, the others at the table order fried catfish and fried shrimp platters. Most of took home food in "to go" containers because the amount of food served was way too much to eat in one sitting. The buffet was worth the price, but, the platters were well priced. Maybe it depends on who the cook is that night? We'll return, but, mainly for the live authentic music.

Ronnie's Cajun Cafe

My husband and I visited Ronnie’s on Sunday and it was awesome. The service was your typical Cajun hospitality; friendly, warm, and personable. The bonus is the food! The gumbo was authentic Cajun with roux, (No okra or tomatoes). Your options were chicken and sausage, shrimp, seafood, or shrimp and okra (this is where the okra is appropriate). They also had lunch specials. I chose the pork roast and my husband chose the BBQ pork steak. These dishes included your choice of potato salad, green salad, yams, green beans, green pea salad, beets, or corn. The dessert (pineapple cobbler) was complimentary. The food was excellent and the service was too! I recommend you try this little hometown restaurant for a great surprise in Cajun dining!

Ruby's Restaurant & Courtyard

Reviewed By EverleighYours

While visiting the Depot Museum, I struck up a conversation with a local gal who invited me to lunch. She suggested Ruby's on 2nd St. We just made it for lunch, and once seated, our server took our drink orders. They had a good variety of menu options - fried chicken & fish, burgers and salads. I saw Ponce on the menu & asked my new friend what is was. She said that it was a traditional Cajun recipe, where pork sausage is stuffed inside a pig stomach. Thinking of boudin, I asked our server if you eat the casing/lining, and she said yes, but I'll bring you a side plate, just in case. These are plate lunches, served with bread & butter, and sides of your choosing. The Ponce was not what I imagined; it was served sliced , not in a link, and plated with rice, corn & okra. It had a smoky, spicy taste and I thought that I had never had anything quite like this before. I ate the casing/lining until I saw the stitches where it had been sewn together (kind of like a football ). I was glad for that side plate! We had dessert & more sweet tea and even tho they were getting ready to close for the afternoon, we never felt rushed to leave. I'm glad I took time from sightseeing to try something new, and enjoy it with someone who gave me insight on what is was like to grow up in the area.
