We stopped after visiting the Pippin Festival in Fairfield. They had a good selection of lunch items to choose from. The sandwiches we selected were quite good. My friend and I both selected a grilled chicken sandwich, mine had provolone and grilled mushrooms and hers had pineapple and teriyaki sauce. My spouse had a burger. The side salads were very fresh and tasty . My only issue is that is pretty dark inside so we tried to sit closer to the front of the restaurant where light was coming in from the windows there.

Great views, great beers, creative pub food... Eagle & the Owl in the Highland Lodge is a favorite for locals and guests alike! Take your time and hang out a while, there are still more craft beers to try and a great meal is only a quick order away.
It is still off season and no snow, so it was not busy. It is in main lodge and a very nice wood interior. Great selection of craft beers on tap. Food is pricey but it is a resort. Dinners are $20+ and sandwiches are about $15. But my pastrami wrap was full of meat and quite filling. It was Friday night so a guy was playing music. Most of parking is a walk to the overflow parking and this was off season. But a nice place, food and beer were wonderful.

We came specifically for the entertainment this weekend and grab lunch while we were there. I'm not a fan of Bar b q anything, I know who doesn't like It! Well I had a hard time with the menu the only thing that even looked remotely good was the smoked turkey, it was okay. My man likes bar b q and enjoyed the beef sandwich. The bakes beans were good. French fries were good, but you can't go wrong with them. May I suggest that have an item or two on the menu that could be a good choice (hamburger/cheese burger) for those that don't like bar b q? Thank you.

Agree with previous negative reviews about the food: legs, shrimp and some of he blue crabs were obviously reheated from yesterday. Salad not fresh, and all way overpriced for the low quality. Used to really like it here years ago. Itâs not at all the same. Wonât be back sorry to say.

After a long drive, we were very hungry and wanted something quick and easy. Chubbyâs looks like an old-fashioned BBQ joint, just off Rt. 15. The building is old, and so is the décor. Though, the autographed photos of famous guests (remember Erik Estrada of the TV show CHIPS?). The service, however, is very friendly. We were greeted with a cheery howdy as we came in, and were invited to take a seat. Soon, Beth came by to take our order: two pulled pork sandwiches (one with coleslaw and the other with potato salad) and two beers. The beers cam in an instant, and the sandwiches came close behind. There was a rack on the table with a selection of six BBQ sauces, with safety instructions. The sandwiches were excellent, the beer was cold, and the service quick and efficient. Soon we were back on the road, satisfied and fortified. Highly recommended.

This place just opened about two or three weeks ago. There is also a Rube's restaurant with the same owners in Thurmont, MD.
We were in town for the antique store and happened upon this place. Great little lunch place. It definitely has a âlocalâ feel. The seafood was great! They also had some nice specials. I really liked the pesto aioli. They had a soup and salad bar and it looked good but I didnât have it. It was good price too. I would go back again if I was in the area.

After our visit to Elizabeth Ann Seton National Shrine, it was time for lunch. Ottâs was recommended at the shrine. What a great out of the way restaurant. Everything from sandwiches and salads! But our friends were extra excited to see French fries with gravy on the menu. Excellent taste and the prices were extremely reasonable!

As I was driving past the Carriage House this past Saturday I saw a large group of nicely dressed people getting read yo go in. I thought, "I know they will have a wonderful time." I was so surprised for my birthday party. It was so wonderful to see new friends and old friends and family. Due to the wait staff being so attentive I always had something to eat and drink. I joking told one of the ladies that I would secretly meet her when she brought out the next tray of scallops so I wouldn't have to share them. In less than 5 minutes she came to me with a napkin and scallop. I felt so pampered. Billy Jo and Crystal and the young man (sorry I can't remember his name. 60 yrs old does that) we wonderful. They felt like they were part of our group. Because they were so attentive I was able to talk with eveyone. Two years ago we had an 80th birthday party for my Mom at Carriage House. It left us with a fantastic memory. I am so glad my husband chose to have my party there. We have never been disappointed. We are hoping to plan a get together there next year just so we can get together.Thank you so much for making the day so special.Sincerely,Paula Mathis
