Reviews on American food in Emerald Isle, North Carolina, United States. Located about a 2 ½-hours drive from the state capital of Raleigh, this welcoming strand of coastline is the perfect blend of solitude and activities. Emerald Island is by no means desolate. There are plenty of funky shops that sell traditional beach trinkets, including T-shirts, toys and water toys for the entire family. If it’s outdoor activities you want, you will find plenty of opportunities for swimming, fishing, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, sailing and more. Kids love flying kites along these sandy white beaches. You can also enjoy a plethora of sightseeing, shopping, golf and other fun activities.

Ate at Frank's last night. Typical great service followed by great food. The pizza is thin crust with excellent sauce and cheese. The other specialties are just as good. I had the lasagna. Chunks of sausage, gooey cheese, and great tomato sauce! With a very fresh salad and and a loaf of hot garlic bread! Tremendous!

I ordered one of the nightly âspecialsâ, Surf & Turfâ. The rib eye steak was fine; however, the âSurfâ consisted of only three (3) scallops. For $36 , I was disappointed as the sides dishes were rather small as well. Others reported that the homemade cole slaw was really just chopped cabbage with little dressing; a lot of wasted cabbage. Take a drive to Port of Call or Island Grille restaurants; much better food for a comparable price.

We left Rucker Johns because they could not accommodate ten people at one table. We were greeted at the door by a friendly hostess and quickly seated at a table for ten. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. We had appetizers- nachos (hot), pretzels and fried pickles. Each of us had a different dish. My husband had a tuna sandwich rare, it was great. I had a crab cake sandwich - rather disappointing- one side was burned. Everyone seemed happy with their food. We stayed late, but the staff remained friendly and we were not rushed. It was a happy Family get together.

We ate dinner tonight after not wanting to wait at another restaurant. Glad we came here. The appetizer chips were so good. I had a Ruben sandwich and fries and it was very good. My girlfriend had Scallops and she said they melted in her mouth. Her hushpuppies were good too. This was our second visit in about 6 months and the last time it was good too. There was no wait on this visit.

Went there our first day for lunch. The food was delicious. The shrimp and grits was out of this world. The ribeye sandwich was piled with meat and flavorful and the shrimp nachos were delicious. In addition, the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend.

Coffee was average, french toast was good. Eggs benedict was ok - one egg was overcooked with a hard center so no yolk oozing and when we mentioned it to waitress she shrugged and said sorry she would tell the chef and proceeded to put our check on the table.

Waitress was helpful in picking out martinis to try. Started with fire cracker shrimp and a wedge salad. Filet mignon special was cooked very well and was tasty - served over shrimp and mashed potatoes with asparagus substituted in place of another veggie. Cold water lobster tail was a good size and well prepared. The restaurant is willing to make substitutions and has gluten free options, or will accommodate changes to make a dish gluten free. This restaurant opens at 5pm (there were people waiting for it to open - us included because they did not take reservations) by 6pm every seat was taken with people waiting to be seated.

Upscale seafood restaurant utilizing modern cooking techniques, practicing safe sustainable seafood and farm to table produce. Catering events & weddings.
Went there for date night after reading reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. Food is absolutely delicious. We had the crab cakes, scallops, pork belly and maki roll and everything was amazing. Great flavor, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our favorite was the pork belly - crispy and oh so good. We are definitely going again. For those saying that itâs pricey I disagree - the quality of the food and service that you get is worth the price. Highly recommend when visiting Emerald Isle.
