This is a standard Applebeeâs, with tasty food, but we found it to be unusually dark inside even though it was noon. The server was friendly, and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time.

The restaurant reminded me of a remodeled Dennys. No atmosphere. Service was friendly and efficient. My Delmonico steak was cooked to order. Spot on medium rare. Baked potato was scorched and uneatable. And served with margarine (yuck) French fries were greasy and soggy. Random canned greenbeans and piece of toasted hoagie roll accompanied meal.

I ordered chips and cheese....i couldnt belive whan the server brought out (about 15 minutes after i ordered) a basket of chips and cheese in little plastic salad dressing containers. The cheese was horrible....the salsa was so so. My friends wings were ok....girlfriends shrimp were surprisingly good and my beer was nice and cold....my burger, served on texas toast was terrible....i mean awful. Imagine a slider size piece of mean served on texas toast....and on top of that the flavor was bland....extra ketchup please. The server was very nice...but not good....took for ever for anything to come out....asked for more drinks....10 minutes later they come out....plus she didnt check on us....we even had to ask another server to get her so we could get the check. I blame management....train your people a little....and get a salt shaker for the kitchen.

After reading the recent reviews, it appears this restaurant is under new management and has made some changes that many do not like. I read that several said the entrees were not that good. We were already on our way to the town for dinner and was going to try somewhere because of all the reviews, but decided to give them a chance and just order pizza. My fiance ordered the black & blue pizza ($15). This pizza includes vintage garlic sauce, blackened steak tips, gorgonzola crumbles, green onions, and shaved parmesan with garlic oil crust. He stated that it was better in the past, but still was a good pizza.I ordered the geek pizza ($14). It included vintage white sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, green onions, feta and shaved parmesan with garlic oil crust. I have not had their pizzas before. I was very pleased with mine. It was very flavorful and would be inclined to order this pizza again. We also ordered some alcohol beverages. He ordered a PT black lager ($4.25). I recall it being cinnamon flavored. It was very tasty.I ordered a seaside sunrise cocktail ($10). It was ok, but felt it was over priced. Our meal added up to about $45. The service was also good. We did not have to wait that long for our order to be taken and our food to come again. I will definitely be back again.

Stopped here with three friends as we were riding motorcycles in the area. First off I love BBQ, smoke my own ribs, chicken and pork, so I was looking forward to lunch. First problem, they don't do ribs until 4 PM. Really? What kind of BBQ place doesn't serve ribs till 4 PM? Maybe the pit-master needs to get there earlier. So I settled for the wings and rib combo and a bowl of gumbo. Notice that you can get ribs as an appetizer but not as a meal for lunch, makes me wonder if these ribs were smoked/cooked the day before and just reheated. Kind of glad that I didn't order the ribs as the ones in the appetizer had no real taste to them. Couldn't taste the rub and a very weak smoke taste to them. The wings were much better, but note they charge $15 for 4 bones and 4 wings. The gumbo.....really thin broth and only two little pieces of sausage. At $10 for a bowl I would expect a lot better. Broth should have been more flavorful and at the price they charge should have been packed with meat. For me a disappointing lunch. Others in the group liked it.

The 1863 Grill has been bringing Elkins top-quality taste for over 50 years. We're famous for our melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon rolls, but we've perfected every detail of every dish, from the mouth-watering steaks and seafood down to the fresh-squeezed lemo
Expensive meal, uneven service, and one disappointing plate made this experience one we will not soon repeat. We chose dining here to treat friends on a night when prime rib was featured. Fortunately, our friend received the cut and desired doneness requested, however, my medium rare was over-cooked and dry, more like medium-well done. A 10 percent comp did not make up for un-filled water glasses and other oversights of the server. A restaurant that charges prime prices should offer exceptional service, and perfect plates. That said, the baked potato, asparagus and salmon entree were delicious. And the crab cakes were OK.

We had a very enjoyable diner here, featuring delicious food and attentive service provided in clean and comfortable surroundings at modest prices. Scottie's is, in short, what a family restaurant should be. If I were an Elkins resident, I'd eat here often, and I'd opt for the Reuben for lunch, the meatloaf for dinner and a slice of coconut cream pie for dessert. They don't serve alcohol at Scottie's, and that's just fine by me..

Went on a weekday get away. Better half had a spinach salad that was great. They did not have my first choice but I went with the chicken. Ordered as a side onion straws. They were fantastic and made my meal. The serving size was out of this world. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I took a spur of the moment trip to Elkins - dining at the Forks which was highly recommended by a friend. What a WONDERFUL dining experience. We did not have reservations but were seated promptly upon arrival. The temperature was cooler but the staff quickly turned on the propane heaters on the deck. Partake of the signature cocktail! I had the lavender martini, made with fresh local lavender. Dan, owner/bartender, formulates these drinks using local floral. Incredible! Their tonic water is also homemade (who knew?). The service was excellent - server was so pleasant - we felt so comfortable. Dinner was tremendous. My husband had the beef tenderloin, which was cooked to perfection. The mussel appetizer is a must - dip in the homemade hot, fresh bread! We felt the prices were right on. We often eat at finer establishments in the Pittsburgh area. The view is priceless. After dinner, even thought they close at 9, we enjoyed cocktails at the bar. We were never rushed and the wine glasses are substantial! We actually stayed in one of their lovely rooms. If you are looking for a relaxing, beautiful setting for dinner with delicious food, you cannot miss at the Forks.
