Find out what American restaurants to try in El Paso. For an alternative Texas experience, consider El Paso. Located far from the bright lights of Dallas or San Antonio, in the state's western corner along the sparkling shores of the Rio Grande, El Paso boasts a different feel than its eastern counterparts. A true melting pot of American and Mexican culture, the combination is noticeable everywhere. Visit the El Paso Museum of Art and see American works from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as Mexican colonial art and retablos from the 1700s and 1800s. Restaurants serve authentic Mexican cuisine, Texas barbecue or a little of both. While this fusion of cultures draws some, the rock climbers who descend on El Paso have only one thing in mind: scaling the massive boulders of Hueco Tanks State Park. Those who prefer the ground can wander through the park's interpretive center and see ancient Indian pictographs. Other popular El Paso pastimes include golf, mountain biking and our personal favorite, stargazing.

This is worth a look when trying to decide what's for dinner. They have "double dipped" wings or tenders in hot sauce and honey. Great flavor. French fries were well above average in taste! Same with Quesadilla! Be prepared for a wait on a Friday or Saturday night as this is a popular location.

We went for the bone marrow on the recommendation of a lcoal and were not disappointed. An appetizer in half for full - we took the full for just the two of us: 6 bones with the roasted marrow inside. And they bring you tortillas to put it in - a new style for us and just yummy! The arrechera (hanger steak) was pretty good, if a bit gristly - it was still tender reheated a few days later, which is pretty good for a steak. Enjoyed the presentation of the chicken enchiladas - which is more a cheese enchilada with chopped grilled chicken on the top - and I chose a salsa verde. Beans were good, too. The tres leches cakes is one of the better ones. At 7pm on a Saturday, the wait for a table was 45 minutes, and there's limited seating while you wait. Wish they offered margarita service while waiting in line! They did have beer and water in an ice cooler. We had nice margaritas with our bone marrow, though it didn't seem very strong, even though the waiter said they added a second shot for us. Service was very friendly and helpful. Parking was full when we arrived, except for one place on the street; looks like there might have been a dirt lot next door.

If you're looking for an old-school burger shop with a tried and true burger recipe - then look no further. These guys are drumming up burgers the same I since I first ever ate here in the 80's. Recently, I ate here with my cousin - both of us LOVED it!

We are from Santa Fe, New Mexico, and enjoy the excellent food we have there. But, we generally do not get very good beef, so I was looking for a good Texas steak. What I got was perhaps the best steak I have ever had anywhere! It was the 8 oz. "Dallas" filet cooked to a perfect medium rare with absolutely no extra fat or gristle and very easily cut. I had to help my wife with her huge grilled chicken salad. The sides of pulled pork, chile, and corn were also very good. This is a noisy place with many TVs and lots of families celebrating birthdays who were obviously having a very good time. The service was excellent and the food was even better.

We were looking for a dinner spot in El Paso that allowed dogs. The first search I did had Ripe at the top. I confess to ignoring the recommendation solely based on my negative reaction to the name of the restaurant. But all the websites kept putting Ripe at the top. So I put my initial reaction aside and set the GPS for the west side of El Paso. The location is about five minutes off the interstate in a strip mall setting with a patio at the front facing the parking lot. The service was attentive and friendly. We had a spinach dip, that was pretty good, as an appetizer. My wife had a beet salad with seared tuna on top. I had a pear salad with salmon. Both dishes were fresh and yummy. The fish on both were near sushi-grade cuts. The wine list was not big, but did provide a variety of choices. I wish they did not allow smoking on the patio, but I understand why they would. In all it was a good experience. Can you change the name, though? âRipeâ food is not a good image.

A business partner local recommended this restaurant as one of his favorites. We made reservations to dine. The restaurant is expensive but the service is impeccable. From the hostess to valet. My guests selected a nice mid range red wine and we ordered the green chili cream soup, which is a house specialty. I then ordered one of the nightly specials, halibut cheeks. I have eaten these before at sushi restaurants. They were fried which was different for me. My guests both ordered waygu steaksWe were comfortably full so no dessert. I do recommend as a special dinner or a business dinner setting.

Heard nothing but good about Stateline. Soooo we ordered a sample of lots of things. NOT IMPRESSED!!!! Food looks good, smell is good, texture is good..... taste is FLAT!!! There is no depth in this BBQ.... definitely needs deeper rub and stronger smoke to add depth. The sauce is thin and vinegary - kinda like a Carolina style.

Independent & Family-Owned Pub featuring 60+ taps of independent beer, vast spirits selection, cocktails, cigars, and a scratch kitchen. Enjoy out on our beer garden.
During our week-long stay in El Paso, we visited the Hoppy Monk not once, but twice. Great tap beer list and we found the food delicious, too. The cauliflower "wings" were a favorite as were the veggie tacos. Just a hands-down great place to chill and enjoy a beer and elevated food!

Had a solo dinner on a weeknight at Crave. At 6:30 pm the place was empty, but quickly filled up with couples, friends and families. Had some tacos which were goodâa lot of food as entrees come with two sides. I recommend the kale slaw. The green chili Mac and cheese was kind of bland and plastic-y. Very expensive wine, by the glass. They said Wednesdays bottles of wine are 1/2 price.
