Lunch was delightful and delicious. I started with the fig & marscapone in phyllo served on drizzled balsamic vinaigrette. It was a most delicious appetizer. For lunch, I ordered the Baked Stuffed Portabello mushroom stuffed with grilled chicken, roasted vegetable and provolone cheese, served with a tossed salad. It was yumptious! For dessert, the lemon drop cheesecake. Absolutely delicious! and a nice sized portion! The hot food was served hot! and the cold served cold. The food was all beautifully presented. The food portions were ample (I took home leftovers) but not in a wasteful way.The food was served timely manner, not rushed, not lagging. The bread served was soft and fresh. The tables were all full but it wasn't too loud and our waitress was there when we needed her and not when we didn't. She was prompt and polite. When it was time to pay the bill, the waitress took care of it quickly.Highly recommend this restaurant. Fresh delicious food. Professional waitress. Pleasant atmosphere and not really pricey!

We stopped for dinner after a movie next door. The menu is varied with an excellent selection of appetizers, salads, entrees and dessert. Prices are very reasonable and portions are large. Service was excellent. There is a nice selection of Irish/English items as well.

Fantastic country store with a great deli - wonderful salads, sandwiches and prepared foods. Wonderful market selection & now quaint eat in tables!
As the tv series, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives has demonstrated many times, small towns often have delis/stores and restaurants with great culinary pedigree. Coffeys is one. Hidden behind a modest facade in a two store strip mall is a gem of a caterer and small grocer. Worth a visit to pickup a sandwich or dinner or even have your wedding catered. It can be that good!

Nothing fancy, but the menu was adequate for our early dinner needs. We split an order of homemade chicken liver pate and added a salmon salad taco and a grilled chicken sandwich for our mains and topped things off by splitting a cheesecake portion. Service was prompt and unobtrusive and the food itself was excellent. Easy to understand why so many guests rate Lillian's as very good or excellent.

I had breakfasted at Somewhere in Time, the sister restaurant of When Pigs Fly located on the Goldstar Highway in or near Groton. It was excellent each time I'd been there. This trip, I am staying in Waterford, CT where When Pigs Fly is located. I had to try it. Like the first place, you get your own coffee from the variety they offer. Grab a mug and pour your own. I had the organic dark roast which was very good. Then you sit and order from a virtually identical menu (one item is different from Somwhere in Time). The servers share tips and it appears each tries hard to hold up their end of it. They're friendly, efficient, remember you, and seem genuinely sincere in their "Welcome back"!There are other places in the area that specialize in breakfast. I've tried several including Sweeties in New London and The Shack in Waterford. The food at each is good. But, the overall experience at When Pigs Fly and Somewhere in Time was better for me than the other places. Prices are pretty much the same at all of them.

Just on the western fringes of Niantic, with excellent free parking, is Charlies Place. Our early Wednesday evening dinner was a mix of Italian and American dishes that were well proportioned, tasty and reasonably priced. The dining crowd was on the light side (5:45pm ?) and the service was excellent. We had a 7pm appointment in the village and the waitstaff accommodated that requirement with a smile. We'd be pleased to come back and dine again.

The Rustic originally opened as a large restaurant, bar and dance hall. It was known to have the likes of Frank Sinatra stop by for an evening out. After a devastating fire, it was rebuilt in 1969 to its present, cozy size. Eccentric locals and summer tou
This is a small and quaint joint, where I went today with my wife, parents and sister. The place is very welcoming, and offers good value for your buck. A selection of CT beers, nice to try what is produced nearby. Good food, especially the apple pie desert :)Not far from I-95, I will come back.

This place was flat out, no kidding amazing. The Hot Lobster Roll was I like anything I have ever eaten before. The oysters are incredibly fresh with homemade cocktail sauce. Staff was great, place was very clean and prices were reasonable. We are only in town a few days but will definitively go back before we leave.

Enjoyed dinner here last night. This is a casual family restaurant. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table, but once we were seated we were greeted right away by the friendly server. Drinks were brought out while we perused the menu. There is a wide variety of options from complete dinners to light salad and sandwich items. Breakfast is also served all day. The food we ordered came out in a reasonable amount of time. Everything was good and the portions were generous. Save room for dessert because their pies are all homemade and the servings are large! I will definitely return to the Shack when I am in the area.
