My husband had heard good things about the fish fry here so on 2/15/19 we decided to see for ourselves how the fish fry was. They are also supposed to have good pizza here. The menu has several choices-from pizza to sandwiches to salads........ On Fridays the fish fry is offered along with other Friday specials. This place is located in East Aurora-a small village located south of Buffalo, NY. There is on street parking and a lot by the side of the building. We arrived early-just before 5:00 PM-and the place was very busy. On the side of the building it states "est. 1881."We were directed to the hostess who seated us at a nice table for 2. There is a bar area and 2 dining room areas. This is a casual place. Nicely decorated with memorabilia on the walls. All the Friday special dinners come with homemade coleslaw, homemade macaroni salad, rye bread, and choice of potato. The potato choices are baked, french fries, sweet baked, and German. You can also substitute onion rings or sweet potato fries for additional charge. You can also add sides for a charge. Take out is available with a charge of $1.00. The Friday specials are served from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Our server was Dana and she was friendly and provided great service. We did not have a long wait for our dinners and the food was hot as expected. My husband ordered the whole/full fish-Greek style. It was a good sized portion of fish topped with spinach, tomatoes, olives, onions, and feta cheese. His potato choice was french fries. He said every bite of the fish was superb. It was cooked perfectly and the taste was very good with all the ingredients balanced. I ordered the half size broiled fish. I asked for Cajun style. I was expecting the fish to be spicier than it was. I would have preferred more of a kick. My potato choice was German and it was terrific. I could go on and on about how tasty it was. Next time I'm going to order an extra portion of the German potato salad. It was perfectly warm and not too vinegary. I loved it. I really like that Wallenwein's offers the option of half size as my portion was perfect for me. The coleslaw and macaroni salad were good too. Not too much mayo which I personally prefer. But the highlight for me was the fish and that fantastic German potato salad!Cost for our dinners with coffee was $32.93 without tip. Credit cards accepted.Since we live in Colden this place is close. We had a good experience. The food and service were very good. We will be back to try some of the other fish choices. Maybe even the pizza!

We stopped here for lunch with our kids and grandkids after poking around East Aurora for a few hours before they headed back home to Delaware. Beautiful old working train station that has been meticulously refurbished! Was relatively quiet when we arrived and our waiter seated us quickly and returned to take our drink orders. He was very friendly and clearly experienced and ensured that we had everything we needed and were happy throughout our visit without every hovering or trying to move us along. Great place to eat - really decent food - great service!

Country style diner featuring.. Breakfast.. Lunch.. Dinner... Banquets and baked goods. Open daily from 8am to 8pm Monday thru Saturday and Sunday 8am to 8pm.
We have stopped in here monthly since our move back to EA. Food is always good and well priced. Soup/Salad bar is fantastic; delicious soups, fresh salad greens not just iceberg. Plenty of fresh vegetables to top your salad. Don't forget to grab garlic bread or cornbread at the salad bar. Service has always been A+; starting with the pleasant young people who seat you and do drinks, and then the nice waitstaff. Very handicap accessible and accommodating. Menu has many varied choices for young and old.Entryway also has a food donation box for Rural Outreach (ask if u don't see it) so bring along a nonperishable to drop in.

Took daughter and her husband and grandchildren here for lunch. We sat outside which was very nice. The service was very good. The food was also very good. The burgers were great as were the french fries. The fish tacos were good but quite undersized for the price. If not for the fish tacos which a few ordered, this restaurant would have been given an âexcellentâ rating.

Unparalleled commitment to quality, local collaboration and authenticity help make 42 North Brewing Company a staple in the Western New York region. World-class craft beer complimented by a small, locally sourced food menu featuring farm fresh ingredients
So glad we finally got out to East Aurora to 42 North Brewing. First, friendly staff. Were great about letting us know we could have a taste before ordering a full pour. That is one of the best things to let customers know you are serious about your product. The beer was very good, took a four pack home. Didn't get to try the food this visit.Second, super cool place. Huge bar, lots of tables. Beyond the main room, there is a game room with shuffle board and other games, and downstairs is a really nice outdoor space with a huge fire pit. It was really worth the drive there.

Rickâs On Main is an up market eatery. The atmosphere is nice, the service is good but the food is only OK. I had a New York Strip with grilled Broccoli and Carrots. Everything tasted like it was hugely under seasoned. Even the NY Strip steak was lacking the flavour of a good aged Scottish Aberdeen Angus Sirloin. It was certainly tender and was a good size, but I would trade quality for quantity every time.Pudding was little better. Strawberry Shortbread and cream was actually macerated strawberries poured over an English (very dense) Scone with Chantilly Cream on top. It was overly sweet and very heavy, again lacking any real depth of flavour. Overall a disappointing meal. Not inedible by any means, but certainly not a $70 dinner. Not on my list of places to revisit, when I am in town again.

Recently enjoyed a marvelous lunch to celebrate Momâs Birthday. Iâve had dinner here previously & never disappointed. Lunch was just as wonderful. Our server, Rita, was gracious, professional, & unobtrusive. The young lady (assistant server?) was also courteous. Menu offered many choices; specials of the day very creative. Momâs swordfish was perfectly cooked as were the rice & vegetables. My sisterâs crepe special of smoked turkey & asparagus with burgundy gravy was also very good. My turkey-Brie-apple panini with sourdough bread was also delicious. The crepes & panini were served with âseasonal fruitâ-huge fresh blueberries, blackberries & strawberries! Desserts are all house made. Momâs âsliverâ hot fudge sundae was served with a birthday candle & complimentary. I also had the sundae- the hot fudge, also house made, was the best hot fudge sauce I ever had. Sisterâs dessert, carrot cake mousse was unique with a hard candy coating enclosing the mousse. The lunch portions are perfectly sized. Some of the desserts are âsliveredâ-a smaller serving to enjoy & not feel guilty about indulging. We dined in the enclosed porch overlooking the courtyard with its flowering shrubs & flowers. We were not rushed & enjoyed special time together. Thank you!

The Bar Bill Tavern has been an institution in East Aurora, NY since the day it opened its doors. The old building at 185 Main Street has stood for over 150 years. Originally opened by Barb and Bill (hence the name) Korzelius, the tavern replaced a small
When we return to East Aurora, Bar Bill Tavern is always on our must visit list. Western NY is the only place where we can find Beef on Weck sandwiches. Kimmelweck rolls have salt and caraway seeds - and with fresh roast beef and horseradish sauce are yummy! Of the 6 members of the family attending today's lunch, only one chose coconut shrimp - and really liked it! The rest of us truly enjoyed our Beef on Weck. Our hostess was great - trying to find a table for 6 is tough in a small tavern. Our server was super!
