Lilys has returned to Mt. Shasta under the original ownership of Ron and Arlene! We are once again offering fantastic food and service for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner daily and Brunch on the weekends. We look forward to seeing you again!
We stayed at the Best Western & Treehouse on our way to Woodside for our grandson's 16th birthday and the food was BAD, so we decided to look on the Tripadvisor for a good place to eat breakfast. After reading the reviews of Lily's we went and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent, the food healthy and delicious, the seating in a wonderful garden setting and the prices reasonable. We will make it a point to eat there any time we are in town and will also recommend Lily's to our family and friends. For the remainder of our drive we bought supplies at Berrydale Groceries down the street . Their selection is amazing, their organic food home made/baked and absolutely delicious. We had the best scones we have ever tasted and the freshly prepared fruit smoothie was awesome.

Today, we visited Stenâs Burger Strand, an adorable family-owned restaurant next to the Dunsmuir Public Pool. This restaurant makes fresh, never frozen, burgers with buns locally sourced from a nearby bakery and named after family members. The burgers are made to order, so donât expect a sandwich in 5 minutes. Good food takes time. The patio has some outdoor games as does the restaurant to keep diners entertained. I liked the giant Connect Four game on the patio. The French fries are also fresh, and the restaurant features both garlic and spicy firecrackers styles as well as plain. Be adventurous and try the firecracker fries. For dessert, there is ice cream. I had a dipped chocolate cone with a nice thick shell of chocolate. Delicious. I learned the âstrandâ name was not a mistake on the sign. The owners are the âStrandbergâsâ, so the burger âstrandâ is a cute pun.

This is a 50âs-style Railroad Car Diner. Pennyâs has taken over some of the independent railroad car diners. We have eaten in others of the independents, so Penny's was familiar even as we stepped inside. The same 50's décor, right down to the Elvis pics on the vinyl siding wall panels. The food was pretty too, good burgers, comfort food. and breakfast. A quick meal, good service, and a fun 50's flash back. This Penny's is adjacent to a hotel. We did not stay there, but it was a convenient choice for those who chose to.

Stopped in for lunch thinking about burgers. Instead I ordered fish and chips and my wife had chicken strips. We enjoyed chatting with our waitress who was a life long local. The dining area is decorated with all kinds of funny signs that kept us chuckling while we ate. Everything we good, not at all greasy. Good food and smiles guaranteed.

Love the atmosphere in this little gem of a restaurant. The sound of the water, the games scattered around and stacked on shelves, the old wood and brick and super high ceilings, the quirky décor, and the big bright windows looking out onto the railroad tracks. I had a breakfast sandwich that was perfect. Good coffee and friendly staff as well.

We went on Thursday morning. Our last morning staying at the resort. The restaurant was closed Tuesday and Wednesday, so this was our only chance to eat there. Really cute inside. Reminds me of an old western saloon. I really liked it. We were the only one's there. The girl was surprised to see us. She said nobody ever comes Thursday. But she was happy we were there, and very nice. We ordered, but then we're told the credit card machine was down. Luckily we had enough cash! That could have been bad! I ordered the chicken fried steak, with hash browns, eggs, and a muffin. Tons of food! Eggs were cooked perfect. Hash browns we're great. The steak was ok. We didn't care for the gravy. Hubby got the prime rib omelette, with home fried potatoes, and biscuits and gravy. He didn't care for the gravy either. The omelette was ok. Nothing special. Everything was pretty good. Not amazing. but good. But the ambiance was great, and definitely made it worthwhile.

After an incredibly disappointing meal the night before at another establishment in Dunsmuir, this meal and experience more than made up for it! Quick and friendly service, incredibly delicious food, good beer (the Rusty Spike), outdoor seating, live music (guitar done beautifully). Kid and dog friendly. Lots of street parking making for a short walk to the restaurant. Definitely a hidden gem and well worth the stop. Helped make our anniversary celebration very enjoyable and memorable.

We had a really good breakfast here. Weather was perfect, and we ate in the small outdoor area. It was neat to view all the older buildings...just a really "special feel" to the area. The coffee was a great beginning, nice and strong. I enjoyed the Eggs Benedict. The waitress was friendly, and we enjoyed visiting with others seated nearby. I would certainly go back if in the area again.
