I have a love / hate relationship with Subway restaurants--I like the food but I frequently hate the service (it is, too often, slow--very slow). This location, however, is consistently a good experience in terms of both food quality and service quality. That may be due to the time of my visits (typically in the morning instead of lunch rush,) but I've never had a bad experience at this location.

We have been on a diet and trying to find food at restaurants that are healthy. We tried the fried walleye. It was good but because it was fried, it still was more calories than we expected. We have always loved their cheese curds and still enjoy them even though we need to limit how much we eat of them. I wish they had a menu with lower calories and I would go there more often.

We ordered from here over the summer, kinda desperate for pizza and had a HUGE surprise! Idk what changed, but in the last 4 mo., including tonight, our food has been GREAT! We even changed it up from sandwiches to chix strips- they have out done themselves!! Their employees are very friendly and delivery is always early than expected! We tried thick tonight for the first time- totally excellent! I'm all for giving a place a second chance- glad I did!!

This restaurant has a steady stream of locals who continue to come back. It's a good place for a reasonably priced hot meal, but frankly, I prefer to go elsewhere. They have a huge menu, and some items are better than others. Tip #1: If you stick with the breakfast skillets and the daily specials, you'll be fine. Yesterday, I didn't do that and ordered a BBQ pork sandwich. It had 4-5 layers of sliced pork with a glob of BBQ sauce on top. It was a generous helping, but I won't order it again.Tip #2: Be forewarned: They do not take credit or debit cards. I barely had enough cash to cover my bill, and I felt bad that I couldn't leave a good tip for my hardworking waitress. Tip #3: Sitting by the front door in winter can be cold. A table deeper into the place will avoid that problem.

First time here. Great food. My husband and kids had breakfast dishes and I had a sandwich. Very friendly and super quick service. Will return next time we are in the area.

This is our 2nd visit here. We arrived at 5:30, they open at 4 and close at 9. We sat ourselves in a booth were promptly given a menus and our waitress took our drink orders. Within 10 minuets of arriving and placing our order the restaurant filled quickly. Some of which ordered take to sit. Near the river in sitting areas and gazebos. Our food arrived, I ordered catfish strips and my wife ordered a regular order of chicken strips, they were large and we will be eating leftovers for a day or two. The food here is cooked perfectly. If you want chicken this place put KFC to shame as well as most of your dinner. The statement the best chicken in Dixon is true. (I POSTED A PHOTO OF THE PORTION SIZE AND WAITING FOR TRIP ADVISOR TO POST.)

Made it just before the six oclock rush hour started and were promptly seated. All you can eat soup and salad bar is very popular. Saw no meaty selections on there, just a good variety of various salads, herring, and soup. Menu not very large but gives good sampling of simple to high end dining--appetizers to duck. Nice sized portions, many people carried out leftovers. Owner stopped by to say hello to guests. Waitstaff was friendly and efficient. Most enjoyable, though restaurant is not very large. Separate bar area. Drinks reasonably priced. Would go back.

We got a suggestion to try this place out. Finally on our way to a Weather spotter class, we elected to go to the right and found it.Good call. This is a sandwich shop, an ice cream shop, and a salad shop.I had their Work Of Art - since it was Arthur's Garden, it was his sandwich. It was wonderful - served hot with the cheese melted - it tasted great! My wife liked her sandwich as well. They both were just tasty as you could possibly want.We came back and got some ice cream for desert - it was fresh and tasted great.Parking in the winter was a bit of a bear - we found a space as we pulled in - otherwise, we would have been stuck behind a bunch of cars waiting in the drive through. The place was busy - lots of people walking in, and the drive through was busy busy busy. It must be good.I don't have to tell the townies to try it - they already know. This is more for those of you who drive through - stop at this place and try it. You'll be back.
