Yes, this location is slow, and there are always tons of people working, but if you're eating at a Hardee's it's usually breakfast time. What's your hurry? Sit around and listed to the latest news and gossip and relax before your day. Food is great and lunch and dinner foods are as well. Relax

This is a friendly Huddle House, full of locals and a clean environment. They undoubtedly do breakfast best, and you can get breakfast any time of day. It is always crowded on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I'd give them good marks for breakfast. Burgers and Philly cheese steak, or anything done on the grill is generally my pick for non-breakfast items. The other meals are more a matter of your taste. To me, they taste like they came out of a box or the freezer, but for the price it's a decent value.

My Wife and I drove from Hixson for lunch at the Coffee Shop. I had read reviews here about this gem in Dayton. I have been to Dayton twice before, with out of town family, to other places to eat. This Coffee Shop restaurant is delicious. I came for the chicken and dumplings. It is well worth the journey. The main course comes in a big bowl, brimming with sensory delites. The bowl even has its own big spoon. Of course I ordered ârealâ mashed potatoes with ârealâ chicken gravy. However, my other side dish, stole the show and my palate. It was tomato cassarole. I have not had anything which tastes like this since my Grandmotherâs kitchen table, growing up as a kid. She was a depression Grandmother, canned, grew, gathered and invented recipes for whatever she had on hand. The tomato cassarole reminded me of Grandmaâs Spanish Rice cassarole. The meal also came with a home made yeast roll and my wife had corn bread with her huge ( it was labeled as small, I cannot imagine what the regular looked like) chef salad. We finished with strawberry shortcake and 2 spoons. I know, I am repeating myself, but I have not tasted a desert like that since Grandmaâs kitchen table almost 70 years ago. My total bill, with tax, was just over $18.00. Please visit and eat here. These wonderful owners and staff are dedicated to uour dining pleasure and satisfaction. I am going back next week for âhashbrownâ cassarole and blackberry cobler. Capt. and Mrs. BrownHixson, Tennessee

Based on the recommendation from Emily at the Best Western Dayton we ate here Friday night and we were not disappointed!Hubby had the BBQ beef plate and I chose the BBQ pork plate. Each plate had more than enough food. Both the beef and the pork were delicious. Hubby chose the slaw and beans as his sides and said both were good. I chose the slaw and green beans and they were awesome as well.We would definitely eat here again if we are in Dayton!

My wife and I were driving through Dayton and decided to stop in at the Screen Door Kitchen restaurant. It is an old house in Dayton, that has been converted into a restaurant. Very different, very comfortable, and they have some delicious homemade food! I had the chicken and waffle meal with potato salad, my wife had the BLT sandwich and mashed potatoes. We both thoroughly enjoyed the meals. You could tell they were made from scratch and with good ingredients. The service was very friendly, our waitress was willing to give some feedback on the different dishes and sides. It's just a little "hole in the wall" and if you're not careful you will drive right past it, but I would suggest you don't drive past it, stop in and enjoy a meal. I don't think you will regret it!Oh yeah, the view from outside is spectacular!!

Monkey Town Brewing Co. is an 80-seat brewery/restaurant in downtown Dayton, TN: home of the globally recognized Scopes 'Monkey" trial in 1925. In addition to serving our own brews, we have a full bar, including cocktails, wine and other brewery's beer. O
Based on feedback from friends, we decided to end a day long exploratory drive at a restaurant theyâd visited in Dayton Tennessee...Monkey Town Brewing Company. The company now owns 3 restaurants in small East Tennessee towns. There is a monkey in the middle of these restaurant's logo. Why the monkey symbol? Why name the brewery The Monkey Town Brewing Company? The reason is historical. Dayton Tennessee is the town where in 1925, the Scopes Trial (Scopes Monkey Trial) was held. It was all about the right to teach evolution, which was illegal in Tennessee at the time. As befitting a brewery, Monkey Town's dining the room has an industrial feel to it. There are a number of side by side tables along the walls, some communal tables, and stools at the bar. We sat in a smaller area near the entrance that contained a few conventional square tablesâ¦my preference when dining. The brewery portion of the building is at one side of the dining area and patrons can watch the brew-master at work.Since we were dining in a brewery, we of course had to sample a couple of beers. I had that tall glass of ale. All of the beers have colorful or meaningful names. My American blonde ale is titled âLittle Miss Thangâ. ($5.25) Laurie loves âhoppyâ beers so she chose âEvolution IPA #35â. ($5.50) Her beer was brewed with flaked oats and then double dry-hopped. We both enjoyed our beers! On to the food⦠For a starter, we ordered the House-made Beer Cheese. ($6.95) We could have had it with French fries or the tortilla chips and we went for the latter. We also could have asked for pita bread for a $1.00 up-charge. For Mid-westerners who crave beer cheese, we both agreed that this beer cheese was a little funkyâ¦certainly not what we would have expected. I donât know how to describe the flavor but at least for us, it wasnât all that great. I do believe that it would have been paired better with the fries or possibly pita bread.Unfortunately, I didnât know what the beer cheese tasted like when I ordered my entrée...and I normally love beer cheese. Guess what I ordered! This was the 8 oz. Beer Cheese Burger. ($11.95) The burger was topped with a slice of fried green tomato and bacon, but taste-wise I couldnât get past the beer cheese. The accompanying potato chips were OK but nothing special. For only the second time in our 10 years in East Tennessee, we spotted one of our favorite fish on the menu. Laurie ordered the New Orleans Barramundi with steamed broccoli. ($16.95) This large fish filet was blackened and served on a bed of rice, then topped with 2 grilled shrimp and topped with a Cajun Alfredo sauce. Laurie even gave me a tasteâ¦and it was excellent! To summarize, dinner didnât work out too well for me but Laurie really enjoyed her entrée. The beer cheese was a definite negative but what the heckâ¦different strokes for different folks. The beer was above average and the service was fine. The next time we dine at one of Monkey Townâs venues, Iâll simply use my previous experience to order wisely.

Good food at reasonable prices. Only complaint is only beer but believe they are in process of getting liquor license. Large portions of food and spacious seating with outside bar and seating as well. Small dock on Richland Creek if want to come by boat. Also, walking distance to downtown. Will be back.
