I hate lima beans, but their lima beans were excellent. My husband ordered them, and I just looked at him like he lost his mind. He just wanted to try them, but there were so many other wonderful sides! Iwas surprised because they weren't like those frozen ones we had to eat when we were children. If they offer them, I suggest you try them.The chicken fried steak and catfish were legit. This is definitely worth a stop. We went here at dinner time and beat the crowds at 6pm after our float at Happy Hollow closer to Leakey. I recommend eating at this place and sitting outside. BYOB if you're like that. Uvalde County is a dry county.

Our group of 10 had a variety of offerings from their menu. All the food was outstanding. Their menu has unique burgers, sandwiches, & taco offerings. The sign says that their wonderful food is worth waiting for & it did take 10-15 minutes but it was well worth the wait. Appetizers/starters are served when ordered. Seating is outside in a pleasant setting, with many outdoors games to occupy children. We will DEFINITELY go there again!Thanks for visiting Hippie Chic's River Shack we loved serving you and look forward to next time.

This was my first time at this restaurant. Attended a board meeting at this restaurant and lunch was provided. The lunch meal consisted of grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes and veggies. The dessert was a dry chocolate cake. The chicken breast was extremely dry and hard. The mashed potatoes were tasty along with the veggies. As for the meeting room it was extremely warm. I'm not sure if the A/C was working properly.
