My last visit, I watched as the person packing the food picked up various dropped items from the counter top with his bare hands, not wearing gloves. I know their intent is to use tongs and such, but items were regularly falling from boxes and he was scooping them up and putting them back in. Then the meal I had gave me an upset stomach. I generally like Chicken Express, that's all across this region, but management needs to step in and clean up procedures at this location.
Have heard about McKay's for awhile and finally decided to try them. Only open for breakfast and lunch. I had the Chef Salad. It was about $5.50 and was a side salad sized bowl with lettuce, tomato and a bit of ham. That's all. Then, the toilet in the restroom did not / would not flush. With a plunger sitting beside it, I assume that's just the routine. They had a pretty good lunch crowd, so I guess they're doing some things okay, but their one chance to impress me did not.

Stopped in here for a late lunch with friends while in the area. Food was very good. Wife got the sandwich and soup combo, said the soup was good, not great, but the sandwich was very good. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. The green beans were better than most places, but still just average. The steak was very good, crisp outside and not greasy.
