Finally tried this place out. My wife & I stopped there for breakfast this morning while in that area. Very busy Saturday morning crowd. Everything was good. I had French Toast, and home fries. The French Toast was excellent, home fries good, and plenty of them. Had we known the portion size of the home fries we could have just got 1 order of them. My wife had 3 pancakes, I ended up eating 1 of them. They were good also. Would definitely stop again if in that area again

At Silver Diner, we're much more than a diner. Whether you choose a classic dish or a vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free option, Executive Chef Ype Von Hengst has created a menu of customizable, healthier choices that all share one thing: the highest quali
I hadn't been to a Silver Diner in five years because the three times I had tried them had been disappointing. Same thing with the food again.Service was excellent - friendly, prompt, helpful. She went out of her way to help my friend who has a significant food allergy.I had skipped a meal so I could enjoy fully a platter of American breakfast. The scrambled eggs clearly showed the ravages of a heat lamp. The pan fries looked and tasted like they had sat in oil for a long time. The chicken sausage had very good flavor but it was so thin that it looked like shoe leather and was a little hard to cut. The great part was also the most important part: the biscuit. It was very good! Paired with their great raspberry jam, the biscuit saved the day.Overall, it was not a meal I would repeat. If I was with someone who really wanted to go, I would try another dish.

Recently went to The Clifton Cafe with my wife and friend for lunch on a busy Saturday. There was a waiting list and the hostess handled that very well. The atmosphere is very nice and our waitress was on top of things. I ordered a cafe mocha coffee to start and it was excellent. Here was the thing, I ordered a salad that included chicken and the chicken was very dry. Really made it average and not very tasty. My wife and friend each had a different crepes (a Clifton Cafe speciality) and they enjoyed their lunches. I will probably go back, but not for the salad.

We stopping for breakfast before heading out of town for the day. Usually the pub is very good, but today everything was fine except for the Cold Potatoes. The eggs were perfect as well as the bacon, sausage etc.

Came for dinner service on a Saturday at prime time. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Kudos to Bonefish for this. Waiter showed promptly and continued to visit us at appropriate times. I had the Italian Seafood Risotto Special which was good but nothing special about it. Wife had the steak which was again good, but nothing special. We started with the Bang Bang Shrimp, which was the best part of the meal. In the past, dining room was overly loud. Our table was on the bar side this time and while the room was loud, it wasn't too much that we couldn't have a conversation without having to resort to yelling.

GAR's tribute to Chris "Ozzie" Osborn, GAR's Head Foodie since 1981. Offering reservations for parties up to sixty and featuring our full menu to go.
When we were partners in an Alexandria business, my friend and I routinely staged our office Xmas parties at the Carlyle Grand, which is part of the same chain as Ozzieâs. The formulas are pretty similar, too: excellent, fresh dishes, sumptuous seats and booths, perfect service, and a sort of fashionable airiness to the dining space. We made a meal of appetizers and desserts (loved my fish tacos) and they left us in peace to catch up on he last eight years over two+ hours. We had a great time, and Ozzieâs helped in every way they could.

As a popular gathering place for locals and area visitors, Okra's guests can be found nightly enjoying happy hour specials, chatting around the bar or dining on authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine. At Okra's you are sure to find a restaurant rich in local
Legitimate Cajun style food. Good quality and fresh. Their bone in pork chop is outstanding. The service is consistent and the prices reasonable. Nice outdoor seating in a nice comfortable part of old-town. Beer on tap is cold but I'm not a big fan of Abita. At little more variety on tap other then Abita would be a welcome addition.

Went for a friendâs birthday, and all of us were delighted with our restaurant week meals. Our waiter carefully described each selection for each course which made choosing difficult because each sounded wonderful. And they were. I especially enjoyed the pate, while others in my party selected gazpacho and frisée salad. The short rib entree with polenta and salad was a masterpiece. Same with the fish with risotto and gnocchi entrees. Desserts were especially rewarding and included chocolate pecan pie, stone fruit sundae or mousse. A great meal overall. But I would like to see an IPA on the beer list, though I was tempted by the cocktails I saw passing by.

Coastal Flats is one of the local Great American Restaurants chain with the pleasing character of the chain. Each one reliably produces tasty and appetizing dishes from a limited range special to the restaurant and which has, however, something to please everyone. Coastal Flats understandably focuses on seafood and does it well. The roasted smoked salmon filet with mustard sauce is slightly unusual and deeply satisfying; the crab cakes have large chunks of crab and taste freshly marine. For myself I am unashamedly fond of the fish fingers - not your usual breaded bricks from the freezer but, instead, lumps of lovely moist cod in a crisp and light, tempura-like, fried batter chemise accompanied by creamy, crunchy cole slaw and matchstick fries. Nowhere else comes close far less could do it better. Worth the journey for that alone. Service, as always, is attentive and ready to meet diners' requests in a nicely open room with a fascinating mural of a street in old Havana.

Ordered the Sweetwater Roast Chicken Salad for $16 for carry out. It was delicious but for that price, we were expecting a dinner-sized portion. Instead, we got something a barely more than a side salad. Sadly, we wonât wonât make the same mistake twice. Good salad but nowhere near worth the price.
