had a wonderful time here at my favorite diner last night. My sibs all got together and celebrated birthdays here at the Eagle and the chef and staff made it a very special occasion. And the cheese cake desert was outstanding. BIG THANKS TO THE WHOLE EAGLE GANG, FROM OUR WHOLE GANG

So we kept hearing about this place from our daughter who has friends in the area. Since we were going to be "down that way" we decided to stop in for brunch. The Diner is easy to spot from the road and has ample parking. We were seated promptly with no waiting, but that's not to say that the Diner wasn't busy! There are tables and booths which can accommodate large and small parties. The servers are diner veterans...they know just that right questions to ask to make ordering a breeze. Very friendly, too! Hubby had a yummy omelet while I opted for a delicious chicken sandwich which was so large that I could only eat half. (It reheated nicely for lunch later in the week) The coffee was delicious and our server was ever ready with the refills! This place is a gem!

I have reviewed Kitchen 519 several times over the years, all of which were glowing reviews. We went with friends tonight who had never been there before. We prefaced the meal by saying âwe have never had a bad meal hereâ. Tonight changed all of that. We were seated immediately upon our arrival and offered drinks and/ or glasses for our spirits. We were told the eveningâs specials; all good so far.One member of our party ordered soup as a starter, one ordered the cauliflower appetizer and my husband and I shared the calamari which we have ordered many times before. The soup arrived long before the other apprtizers. The two other appetizers came and within minutes the entrees arrived - long before we were finished eating the appetizers. However, only three of four meals arrived. The fourth entree- a burger- was brought a full ten minutes later. My chicken was supposed to have a rum berre blanc sauce. It was dry as sand and very dark- almost burnt. It had absolutely no sauce of any kind. In addition , the âroastedâ potatoes were almost burnt and the arugula was so salty you could barely eat it. No cheese was offered for the pasta dishes and we had to ask to gave the bread basket filled. The server rattled off dessert offerings - no menu was presented- and then left to get coffee and tea, never returning to get a dessert order but instead dropping the check. Service was slow and inconsistent food was brought by multiple servers with no one knowing who was supposed to get what order. The place was chaotic!!!Having suggested Kitchen 519 to our friends, we were both embarrassed and disappointed in all aspects of our evening. We will not be back any time soon.Hello I am sorry to read your review. We recently hired a bunch of new staff and I think that had something to do with your poor experience. We will definitely be speaking to the staff about these issues as your experience is not what we are aiming for. If you wouldnât mind emailing us your address at [email protected] we would love to send you out something. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.

Had an appointment in the area so my wife and I stopped here for lunch. We found the Lunch Specials (Soup, Sandwich, Cole Slaw, French Fries, Pickle AND Dessert) to be quite reasonable with selections in the $10 range and with such huge portions that I took a lot home for another meal. Our Server, Michele was polite, knowledgeable and attentive to our needs even though she was handling a large group of Senior Citizens as well as several other tables.. Overall we found this to be an enjoyable experience. We plan to come back to try the Senior Citizen Dinner Specials on our next visit.

Not sure which to praise higher, the awesome food, incredible service, or great music. The super sweet proprietor is committed to her customers' happiness. That is so refreshing in this day and age when there is so much apathy. Her passion is infused in her cooking as the slab of St. Louis ribs, Southern-style green beans, baked beans, and Mac n cheese are divine. And the soulful music helped to finish off the ambiance. But the banana pudding is a must for finishing off the meal! Looking forward to trying the collard greens next time.

Cannot recommend. The flatbreads had mushy tomato spread and not enough cheese. The Salads were soggy. My friend dents hers back. One item that was unique was the eggplant Parmesan which was crispy on the outside and delicious. But, the portion sizes were small, despite ordering g for 2.Service is good, decor is pleasant and they do have music I believe one night a week.... but the food could be better.

I don't know what happened here but tonight, we felt very disrespected. It appears that unless you are a famous person at this restaurant, they don't want to know you. We had reservations well in advance, asked for a table on the deck near the fireplace and they had a table way back near the entrance to the kitchen. Just awful. There was another table available a bit closer to the fireplace. And when asked about it, they said it was reserved. Well, what was our reservation then? Obviously not good enough I suppose. Then we finally sat in the bar area. We ordered and found hair in one of the dishes. We promptly sent it back. They prepared another one, a long time afterwards. Let me ask you. Do you think the manager that was walking around all night, even stopped to ask us how everything was? Or do apologize for the hair in our food? You guessed it. Not a chance. We have been loyal customers for over 20 years, and I have never seen treatment like this before. I believe this restaurant has gone down hill in a very bad way. Someone needs to address this manager. I will tell you, that if I treated people the way he does, I wouldn't have a job. Do something quickly about this place!!!

Sitting outdoors here on a lovely late spring day is quite nice. Our waiter, Cody, was the best: he was able to provide great comebacks for my brotherâs offbeat humor, was attentive, and was courteous. We had the calamari which were good but the sauce (what was that?) doesnât pair well. The wings were good but so sticky--we shouldâve been provided wet-naps! The desserts are disgustingly too large, and my mother thought the crab sandwich had too much filler. Actually, it was Cody who made our visit here great.

We went to this diner as it was recommended highly by an acquaintance. Upon our 10am approach, there were dozens upon dozens of people waiting outside. They must have been waiting for larger tables, however, as we were seated immediately in a booth for 4. Our waitress arrived promptly and took our drink orders. An orange juice was included with my husbandâs breakfast but he never got it. Our daughterâs banana nut crepe consisted of about 4 banana slices on the plate and nothing but walnuts inside the crepes . She was disappointed and I also felt they could have done better with preparation and presentation of this dish. I ordered French toast and sausage which was good. Basic, but good and plentiful. Noise level was acceptable. We were able to converse and dine without disruptive noise around us. We would dine here again, maybe just not on a holiday where the kitchen staff was probably overwhelmed as was the waitress who forgot our orange juice.
