Find out what American restaurants to try in Clayton. Clayton is a town in Johnston County, North Carolina, and considered a satellite town of Raleigh. As of 2010, Clayton's population was 16,116 people. Much of that growth can be attributed to the town's close proximity to the Research Triangle area and access to major highways such as I-40, U.S. 70, and NC 42.

Ordered the winter special of their version of chicken pot pie. This did not even resemble a pot pie. There was some kind of chicken mush covered with dried bread crumbs chunks then a heavy dousing of cheese. After a couple bites couldnât eat any more and took home for pup, the pup didnât eat it either. We wonât return. The waitress was attentive thus the only redeeming thing about this restaurant.

Restaurant/Bar where you can enjoy appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, dogs, pasta dinners, vegetable options, etc. Also get an ice cold beer either on tap or bottle, many drink specials to choose from.
First time after living in the area for years-definitely not our last. Food was excellent. I had a burger-one of the best I have ever had. My wife had the blackened chicken sandwich on Italian bread-bread was some of the best weâve had. Service was great and the prices are reasonable. Was a little worried as I ordered the single burger and thought it would be small-plenty big. Not fancy-adjoins a bar but the atmosphere was good. Will be back often.

Awesome place, I have always thought they were good but they have expanded there menu and added lots of craft beer since last time we stopped by. Had a great cheesesteak and potato salad. Wife had a turkey Ruben and we loved it. Definitely will be coming back soon.

Charlies BBQ and Grille The best BBQ experience in the best of a good old North Carolina tradition!
Charlie speaks to everyone that comes in! He's been there for about 7 years I would guess and the food is always great. Everything is homemade and you'll always find a crowd there. Save room for dessert for sure!

We had lunch at the Clayton Steakhouse with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, not least because the service was exceptionally attentive and friendly (thank you, Lisa). If my experience was typical, the food they serve here is very good indeed. My Philly cheese steak sandwich, the daily special, was prepared just the way I like it. Yum! The chips were delicious too (we asked for, and quickly received, a less salty serving). Iâd gladly stop here again for lunch.

What a great little restaurant. Another one if those places that have driven by many times but never stopped. Decided to give it a try tonight, at my wife's suggestion, and glad we did. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. I had the bourbon glazed salmon and not only was it good but was cooked just the way I asked. My wife had the Seafood Penne that was also very good. While it is a little out of the way the extra drive was worth it. Was surprised to learn it had been there for 12 years. Definitely a locals favorite place to eat and was evident from the interaction between some of the customers and their server. Will definitely be returningThank you for taking the time to share your experience! I look forward to meeting you on your next visit. I have often been told we are a hidden gem which is both good and bad. We have lots of free parking and some delicious food. See you soon!Tina B.

This restaurant is certainly a hidden small town treasure. The food was prepared in a tasteful and well presented manner. The service was very good and provided in a most professional way. I will return to this restaurant and tru another item from their well rounded menu.
