We're Always Cookin' There's something about a freshly made meal, prepared just for you. Maybe it's a waffle sundae to celebrate the day you get your braces off, or a plate full of loaded hash browns after a Saturday morning soccer game. Whatever the occa
We've been here probably 40X and it âs always been top notch. Sunday night, January 1, 2017 was not so good. We went there to get a couple of the $4.99 combo deals. This is usually a 30 minute visit- at the most. Last night we were there about an hour and a half. The service was remarkably poor. Granted we were there around the time the various churches around there were ending their services, so it was really busy. They had 5-6 people working including 2 cooks. From the time that we placed our order it took about an hour to finally get our food. The waitress even snapped at me when I merely said, "It's really busy tonight isn't it!" She then quipped, "I'm doing the best I can!" I thought I phrased it in yes / no answer format! At that point we should've left and went to Waffle House, but we stayed. We had just sat down as well. Everything about my order was incorrect! The waitress eventually corrected the problems, but for the most part, the food was cold and awful. We were charged full price. We were given several excuses by the staff. The staff almost came to blows several times as they argued among themselves. We thought several of them would just quit and leave. You could cut the tension with a knife. I know this was a one-time thing, but this should never have happened. You still have to be professional- even under adversity. I have to do that in my line of work! Perhaps they didn't get this memo! Maybe it'll be better next time, but this visit was terrible! I know they can do be 5 stars again! Let's hope so!
This was a typical meat and 2 place. I was hoping for fresh ingredients, but the potatoes weren't mashed in house (maybe boxed) and the fried okra looked and tasted like it came out of a bag of breaded, frozen okra. The hamburger steak did seem to be hand pattied, though. The chicken tenders were nothing special. The waitress said they make desserts in house. The German chocolate cake was good. I'll be back to give the barbecue a try. That's their speciality, so that may be the way to go.

This is a great place for Country Cooking. The dinner meals are very good and inexpensive. There's always a good crowd here. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. They have very good beans. We've never been disappointed here food wise.

Popped in to have lunch before heading to some waterfalls in Alabama. Ordered the coconut shrimp special, which was good. I sat outside on the deck to enjoy the beautiful weather. Unfortunately, the manure smell was sometimes quite cloying, especially when the wind blew in the right direction. I'm not sure if it was because I was alone or because a fairly sizable party sat right after me, but I felt pretty ignored after my food was brought out. I was finally offered a refill on my drink about 5 minutes after I finished my meal. Took another 5-10 minutes before I was given the check. Luckily I had nothing but time, so it wasn't a huge deal.

Busy restaurant in Hwy 27 in historic Chickamauga, GA. We've only been to breakfast here, but we've been about 5X. This is old school! You can even get a fried bologna biscuit! Who does that anymore? The gravy is very good as is anything else that I've ordered here. You can get a side order of tomatoes as well. The prices are great. The waitresses are friendly and quick. They have a large local crowd who frequent the place often, but they are not stand offish to first timers or visitors. They treat everyone equally weather they know your name or not. Old school here the way it used to be and still should be today everywhere else!

I've had several dishes at Choo Choo. It's a clean, friendly, charming place to eat with that country feel. The food is always fresh and very tasty, and it's at a fair price. Not too expensive. I really like their fried dill pickles as an appetizer. I never would have thought I'd try a fried pickle, but those are some tasty treats.
