The Waverly Inn is a neighborhood restaurant and bar, serving traditional as well as inventive American fare. With comfortable booths in a relaxed bar atmosphere, a separate dining area ideal for intimate dinners with friends and family and a beautiful ba
Overpriced- somewhat depressing place. On the positive side - bartenders are tremendous. I miss the Waverly before this regime. That was a much more homey atmosphere with good- never great fare. Instead of a "rotation" spot - this is a once a year drink and app place where we go on our anniversary since we had our huge <35 people> wedding reception there 20 something years ago...
I stopped here for an early dinner. They have some tables and seats inside. After looking over their menu, I ordered the turkey club grinder ($8.50).The sandwich was ready in about ten minutes. It was good size grinder lightly toasted on a panini grille. It had plenty of turkey, cheese, and bacon. I thought it was very good. They offer a New Haven style pizza and several patrons around me had ordered slices and were raving about it. I think I will try their pizza next time.

Just awful. Place is dirty. Food is low quality and kitchen staff is chaotic. Flys everywhere and staff disorganized. Too bad since Cheshire deserves to have a decent place for breakfast. Skip going here...my wife was sick following our dining experience at this establishment.

I have eaten or had a drink here a number of times before when meeting one of my friends since it's conveniently located near the center of Cheshire. They have added an outside deck which is very nice on warm sunny days. Food was adequate pub fare reasonably priced along with the drinks. Service was ok, but certainly could have been better. I have always enjoyed the "Vic House" & will definitely give it another try.

I can't go to this place anymore. It's cheap but, I'd rather pay more. Once found out I was a Trump supporter my service plummeted! Hey, I was there for food not political liberal bologna. My money is as good as everyone else's. Maybe better since I earned it. Coffee was horrible. Tasted cheap and burned. Eggs delivered wrong, as usual. Hot sauce and pepper can only do so much to help improve the breakfast. Drive to Micheal's deli or Ricks on 5, maybe The Breakfast Nook instead. They are more expensive but, better food and coffee.

Sooo, let me clarify. I have been to Sparrows many times and frankly the food is always good. However there is always something that gets in the way of this pub to being an above average experience. Sometimes it is the long wait for food, or a grumpy bartender that is waiting on tables, cleanliness of menus, bathrooms not up to par, ran out of what you wanted on tap or just something else to allow this place to stay a struggling average. I am sure sparrows can be better, but i am not sure that the management knows how, can or wants to improve. Maybe average is their comfort zone, but the prices they charge dictate above average experiences.
