Chalmette is a census-designated place (CDP) in, and the parish seat of St. Bernard Parish, in southeast Louisiana, United States. The 2010 census reported that Chalmette had 16,751 people. The 2011 population is listed as 17,119; however, the pre-Katrina population was 32,069 at the 2000 census. The population hence declined by 46% between 2000 and 2010. Chalmette is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area. Chalmette is located east of downtown New Orleans and south of Arabi, towards Lake Borgne.

We had the most delicious meal of our visit at Paladar. Delicious pizzas, large dishes, small plates - each one better than the next. The staff is picky about changing reservations which for us seemed strange as the place was not filled when we arrived or left, but they would not let us add to our table. The service was great and the cocktails terrific.

The Praline bacon and food did not disappoint but the service was cold and unattentive. Yes, we came in later in the day but she didn't check to see if we were enjoying anything & left all our plates in front us as we talked. Lots of great food available in New Orleans, the level of service is what sets people apart. If this was my first visit to Elizabeth's ...I'd never return.

And itâs not just because my son in law is one of the owners! The pizza is innovative without being odd and has a great crust, the pasta is fresh and takes advantage of fresh local ingredients, and thereâs a great vibe. Get out of the Quarter and get a slice. Or better, a pie. And garlic knots.

Sunday night after church a group of 9 of us went here. Luckily when we arrived there was only a couple people there so we figured we'd get really good service, NOT !!!! Most of the nine ordered food, I did not (only something to drink) we arrived approx. 7:10pm & we had our drinks & our food order in by 7:30pm & by 8:40, 5 of the 8 people who ordered food had gotten their order but the other 3 never did get their food. And this isn't the 1st time this had happened at this location. We started going here after Par 3 started closing before 8pm. But it looks like it's time to find somewhere else to go after church. Because this type of service is unacceptable. SO from our experience, going here for some donuts is fine BUT ordering & receiving food is a risky proposition.

Try the grilled tuna. It is moist, cooked properly and just melts in your mouth. When I don't know what I want to eat and hubby mentions Brewster's my eyes light up (really they do We always do 'take out' so I can't critique the service but hubby said he was impressed by the wait staff. Brewster's also does a burger that puts all the others to shame.Thanks so much for the review! The tuna has become one of the crowd favorites, and we are glad you agree. If you're looking to try something different, think about trying the tuna on a salad or a sandwich. (Delicious!) We hope to serve you again soon.

Loved this place! It's so cute! Love the art on the walls and they have this amazing little corner with a TON of children's books!!!!!! The food was exactly what we needed to start a full day in NOLA. I had the green eggs and Ham on the everything bagel. It was delicious!! We also tried the house juices while there. Definitely worth it! Staff was nice and friendly! Will be going back here when in the area again.

Stopped in and had the oyster sampler. Oysters prepared 3 different ways... OMG, very tasty. The food is excellent here I haven't ever had anything bad here. Waitress made sure everything was alright. Excellent food & excellent service makes this a place you want to frequently visit.

After enjoying raw and charbroiled oysters, chicken livers, shrimp and scallops, we 6 then feasted in catfish, veal t-bone, and chefs special petite filet. Chef Lincoln Owensâ masterful preparation and Chuckâs wine selection made a wonderfully memorable night for we 6 old friends!

Customer had a shrimp poboy with fries and said it was very good. I had a oyster poboy with fries and both was way too salty. The oyster was very heavy battered. The batter was too salty and not the oysters. The fries could have used 1/3 of the salt they put. Service was fast. The place is very clean and inviting. I will try them again.

Take a look at the menu on the chalkboard before getting in line. The Mac and Cheese comes highly recommended, delicious and not what you might expect, with long noodles and and they give you enough to feed three people (and that was the small size). We ordered the fried chicken, which takes an extra 25 minutes to make, and again, enough to feed at least two people (three if you also get the mac and cheese.) But it was the best fried chicken we have ever had. The atmosphere is kind of cafeteria like, though they do have a full bar. If you have the time and the hunger, this place has a great local reputation for a reason.
