We had been asking around about places to eat, and were given a good recommendation for Ollie's Place in Celina, so we decided to give it a go. We arrived on a Friday night during the 5 o'clock hour, and were immediately seated. However, within about 20 minutes it was standing room only as the locals were lining up. Parking was a bit of a problem as Ollie's is right off the road with no room between the end of the dirt parking lot and the room. [This caused a lot of problems as after I parked, two pickup's parked on either side of my vehicle, blocking any view to the road. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts to get out without getting hit (cars just swerved around me) my wife got out and gave me a hand signal to back out. Wouldn't want to do that again.] The table we sat at was old and felt rough. The décor is hard to describe, as there are lots of sayings on placards on the walls, and some pictures of locals. I opted for the catfish dinner, and my wife went for their fried chicken and 3 vegetables. We both liked the cole slaw, but my wife said her chicken was greasy. For some reason, my dinner came on a Styrofoam plate, but her's came on a regular plate. My catfish was ok, but the fries were taste-less and the hush puppies were greasy. The atmosphere was less than to be desired as it was very crampted. The staff were VERY friendly and looked like they were working Very, Very hard. All in all, not a bad experience, but gonna check this one off my list and not worry about coming back again. Maybe it is great for the locals as they are used to it, but for a visitor, it was just not a pleasant place to eat and since the food was not that great, I can't give it more than what I did.

Yes, this is a BBQ restaurant. Yes it is a good place if you are in the Dale Hollow Lake area. BUT the demeanor of the service staff, the faulty air-conditioning, the faulty credit card machine and the lackadaisical process of finding or being directed to a table - all of these things just makes the overall dining experience one that you want to run away from!I am sure that this restaurant will continue to pack in the crowds - and if you can ignore the environment and the issues I noted above - the food is good.
