Restaurants in Carthage
We make a monthly trip to Carthage and decided to try someplace new to eat since we have been getting burned by our previous place. I had seen a friend on Facebook post about a new restaurant, so figured why not. It is located in a gas station... which usually I shy away from, but took the chance. I ordered a bacon cheese burger and fries and my mom got a cobb salad. My cheese burger was really good, fries could use some work, but burger is good. My mother really liked her cobb salad, I think the place kinda sold her on it. They brought out a order of rolls, either they were old or were overly worked prior to baking as they were tough as can be. Everything else was good though. We will definitely be coming back to try more things.
I think this location is fairly new to Carthage. Excellent fried catfish and shrimp. Fish and shrimp is offered either fried or grilled. Large portions and very reasonable prices. Also have chicken and Po-Boys on menu. So good I ate there twice this week. Also seemed to have a steady take-out business. Recommended
Charlie's Bistro is a great find! It is located on the Panola College campus in the A.J. Gymnasium. Don't worry about having to wait to grab a parking spot since the College has placed reserved parking right in front of Charlie's for their customers. Charlie's is a great place to stop for your morning coffee and grab a quick bite for breakfast. Their Chai Tea Latte is one of my favorite and only $2 for a venti! If you stop by for lunch, I highly recommend their chicken quesadilla or their BLT panini (both are under $4), but their chicken salad sandwich is good too if you are in a hurry. With great prices, good food, and a beautiful campus view, this a great spot to eat and might even have you reminiscing about your own college days.

For more than 65 years Denny's has been bringing people together over great food. It's the place where people can relax and be themselves; where they can enjoy classic American comfort food and everyday value. 24 hours a day. 365 days a year. Here, you ca
The restaurant has been newly remodeled and is beautiful. We were seated immediately and after ordering our food was quickly prepared and brought to our table. I had a Jalapeno-Bacon-Siracha Cheeseburger with seasoned fries and my wife had a steak with corn, potatoes and garlic bread. Both the burger and steak were cooked exactly as we had instructed and all the sides were well prepared and seasoned. Service was excellent and the establishment was spotless..

The Longhorn Grill was a midday oasis for our family on a day-long drive. Our waitress was super helpful and we were served quickly. The appetizer-- homemade rolls with honey butter!--was just the thing to whet our appetites. The lunch buffet was a bit limited, but each selection was above average in taste. We tried three or four different pies at the end, and wished we had saved more room just for those. The coconut creme pie was possibly the best I've ever had.

Fugler's is nothing fancy, but a great place to take family and friends! Rows of tables reminiscent of school cafeteria in a metal building adjacent to a country convince market. The catfish is a favorite, hamburgers are juicy and delicious, chicken fried steak smothered in gravy.... Yum! It's always busy on the weekends but the wait staff are always friendly and keep the tea coming! Definitely worth the 15 min drive outside of Carthage or stop by after a day on Lake Murval.

I wasnât sure what to expect from a tea room but it is more like a lunch room. This isnât fancy but the food is great. They have a varied menu that includes sandwiches, pasta and a delicious salmon with creole mustard sauce served with mashed potatoes and green beans. The salmon had a great flavor and the sauce was a perfect compliment. They only serve soft drinks which is too bad because I would have loved a nice glass of wine with my meal.
