Find out what American restaurants to try in Camarillo. Camarillo (/ˌkæməˈriːoʊ/ KAM-ə-REE-oh) is a city in Ventura County in the U.S. state of California. The population was 65,201 at the 2010 census, up from 57,084 at the 2000 census. The Ventura Freeway (U.S. Route 101) is the city's primary thoroughfare. Camarillo is named for Adolfo and Juan Camarillo, two of the few Californios (pre-1848 California natives of Hispanic ancestry) to preserve the city's heritage after the arrival of Anglo settlers. The railroad coast route came through in 1898 and built a station here. Adolfo Camarillo eventually employed 700 workers growing mainly lima beans. Walnuts and citrus were also grown on the ranch. Adolfo bred Camarillo White Horses in the 1920s through the 1960s and was well known for riding them, dressed in colorful Spanish attire, in parades such as the Fiesta of Santa Barbara.

Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes creates an all-you-care-to-eat dining experience with a daily selection of made-from-scratch soups and salads and hand-crafted muffins, focaccia, breads and tasty desserts.
I'm biased about this Souplantation but this is the one that just get's the job done in the best way possible. The food tastes fresher, the Lemonade tastes better, the staff seem happier and the place seems cleaner than other branches. One reason for this is that generally speaking the people in Ventura are happier than their counterparts in Los Angeles. The other reason could be that is in what was (although it's changing rapidly) an economically poorer area, they promote from within. Today's empty plate collector can be tomorrow's assistant manager. I've seen that rise with my own eyes and the difference to the young single mother that this opportunity has given is heartwarming.Ok the best way to go here is to use your coupons or pull up on your smartphone. Go at 3:30 pm so you are paying lunch prices after a day at the beach and then at 4pm they put out the hot dessert which is also the time the prices switch to dinner prices. Kids always love a visit to Souplantation.

A nice find in Camarillo for breakfast. A bit of a wait late Sunday morning suggested this is a popular place. Good Morning Cafe has a definite mom and pop feel. We were treated to some complementary mini muffins before breakfast. Greek and Veggie omelettes were our selections. Well made breakfast. We enjoyed this restaurant.

Stopped here for Sunday brunch late morning as we were waiting for the nearby Olive Oil store to open at noon. Modest menu, with both a regular lunch menu available as well as a Sunday brunch menu. Almost didnât order the omelette as the menu description noted only the omelette (with up to four toppings that you can select) and either potatoes or fruit. Man, I really wanted toast on the side though too. So in the toss up between fish & chips and the omelette, I want with the egg option. And lo and behold, our server asks if I want sourdough or wheat - toast included too, so now Iâm a happy camper.Order taken by the server by memory, which also makes me both nervous as well as a bit impressed, as that superpower is beyond me. Service was friendly and attentive. Place seemed to have a few regulars. I got quite full from the meal. Oh yeah, for the guys, there is some pleasing to the eye artwork in the menâs johnny, fyi.

My first time there, but my daughter makes it a regular stop of hers when traveling between the Central California Coast and Los Angeles. I was not disappointed. We shared a chicken wrap and it was plenty for two people. Their sweet potato fries were fesh and yummy. They make good iced tea, too. Service was good. I will go again when I'm in the area. There is a separate bar area and they have TV for sports.

My HH and I stopped by for a late lunch. We had appetizers which included the Mazatlán Shrimp, Mac & Cheese, Crispy Wings and Baked Oysters. Everything was delicious and it was nice to have Gluten Free Mac and Cheese. Our Server was most helpful.

Sunday early afternoon breakfast at Eggs and Things in Camarillo. Decent option for their specialty, breakfast. We had a veggie omelet and a Spanish omelet at our table. Each offered with a choice of several style of potatoes (or fruit I believe) and a toast or biscuit option. Fairly full upon arrival though coming here after 12pm, we were able to get seated right away. Not a fan of the type of cheese used on the omelets here, though I asked for light on cheese so that helped. Mom and pop feel to this place with a booths inside and some bar type seating as well. Service was very attentive. Next time, I think we go for the pancakes.

We live in area and was long time ago we had dinner here. So we were all in for it to have dinner again here. What a disappointment. Meat was not good, lots of fat. French fries below any other restaurant quality. We looked at each other couldn't believe this. Way better choices in Camarillo. We will try in 10 years again.perhaps.

Absolutely love this place: great food, friendly (and very attractive) servers, and of course the main attraction: endless aircraft - flying, taking off, landing, taxing or just sitting on the ramp and looking beautiful.I rarely give 5-star reviews but this place is worth it. It is also worth waiting for a table, and once again I rarely wait, I usually just go somewhere else. So this is worth it in all those ways - get out there and enjoy!

I have never been to a Laura Fish house previously. Itâs a small chain of a couple of restaurants. The fish was extraordinarily good. Lots of choices, and very delicious recipes. Good wine list as well. The service was excellent as well. Our waitress was brand new and yet she was on the ball and knew what she was doing. This was an excellent experience. Canât wait to be back.
