Whether it be lunch and cocktails on the beach or candlelit dinner by the koi fish pond, Banana Azul's motto for our restaurant is 'Fresh & Simple.' We strive to only use fresh ingredients and try to stay away from processed foods. We also offer vegetaria
Hubby and I enjoyed dinner, and a take-out lunch, at Banana Azul in July when we rented a house nearby on Playa Negra Beach (reviewed separately) and it was recommended by the owners. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, great food, friendly service, free wifi, and reasonable prices. It also had a (free) locked and fenced parking area. We had sandwiches for lunch and for dinner, I had lasagna and hubby had mahi mahi. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed our meals. We also enjoyed the soup and salad buffet at dinner. The total bill for dinner was about $50 and they accepted credit cards. The gardens are lovely and we returned during the day to walk through and enjoy the grounds more fully in the daylight. We enjoyed the koi pond that stretches the length of the dining area with its many fish and turtles. The garden had beautiful paths, plants, and trees. The beach area also looked beautiful, although we didnât relax there. We recommend dining at Banana Azul and will return when we visit Puerto Viejo in the future!*Thank you for reading my review! Bar & restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily as well as late night plates until 2:30am. Nightly events such as live music, sporting events, open mic night, karaoke night, free salsa classes, and much more. In the heart of the town in front
There are so many choices in PV that itâs hard to recommend anything that is just average. The food was ok-nachos, burrito, quesadilla. Perhaps other items would have been more satisfying. Weâd been eating typical food for a week though so decided to try something different. The items were good but pretty bland. We added chicken to all three and it was very tasty but there were little bones that must have gotten chopped up with the chicken. Understandable but not very appetizing unfortunately.
Grilled meat restaurant, wood-fired pizzas, Italian pasta, Caribbean food, seafood, American, Costa Rican
My husband and I have been in Cahuita for days now and have had fantastic meals everywhere we have eaten, tonight though has ruined the dinner experience for us! We ordered buffalo wings and they were great. When dinner came I was served something I did not order, when I asked the server if this is what I ordered she responded yes. I call bs on this. I called her over and said âno this is not what I orderedâ. She immediately removed it from the table. I did not eat the side dishes it came with and said that I was good I wanted the check. She returned with a small piece of peppered steak and I said no! The owner came out and explained that in Costa Rica if you order something you pay! I said I will not pay for a mistake not on my part. Reluctantly they took off my order, but in the spirit of Christmasâs Eve my husband overpaid purposely. Just a word to the wise be careful of this establishment.
