Reviews on American food in Bhutan, Bhutan. Remote Bhutan first allowed the world a peek inside in 1974. With four millennia of habitation, the Himalayan kingdom offers a trove of archaeological treasures, including many ornate temples and dzong fortresses. Isolation has preserved the heavily Buddhist-influenced culture of the last Shangri-La.

Definitely try this place for authentic Bhutanese cuisine, great taste and hospitality at decent prices. The serving size is good for 2-3 people, and best part, if you are solo, you could order half portions at half prices.Tried the Ema Datshi with Red rice!!! And they made it with less spicy peppers as I asked, perfect for me to experience the traditional datshi. The view of the mountains and the river is unique, not many restaurants around are able to offer this scenic view. Thereâs also a good collection of books and illustrative magazines on Bhutan. Yes this place offers excellent food and moreover a genuine Bhutanese experience.

Coffee for friends. Herbal tea for health. Food for hunger. To add and maintain your vigor is the Tower Cafe
Iâve visited tower cafe more than a good number of times with my fiancé over the years. We simply love the food there, the service and the hospitality. Burgers, fries, toasts, salad, rice items, drinks etc. added unique recipes that other joints donât really have in Thimphu. Itâs a must to visit tower cafe if you ever come to the capital plus itâs right in the dead center of town. Satisfaction guaranteed, an experience worth the shot. Welcome to tower cafe
Old town cafe is a new cafe in the old town of punakha , opposite the punakha Dzong taxi parking . We serve Bhutanese , Asian continental and American cuisine .
We had read good reviews of this place, so we went there for lunch after driving down straight from Thimpu with a stop over at Dochula Pass. Then we saw the Punakha Dzong & walked over the suspension bridge - we were quite hungry when we sat down for lunch. After ordering our food my appetite disappeared after we saw the tiny room in which we were seated had a restroom & that people were queuing up to use it! Don't make the mistake of sitting in this innermost room & don't order Momo's - rubbery & chewy
