We were looking for a lunch stop as we passed through Benicia on our way home from Wine Country. It took a bit of driving to find the place, but it was worth the search. NOT in downtown Benicia, but rather out on the north east side, past the refinery and in an industrial park.Looked like a typical coffee shop, with a good breakfast menu. We were looking for lunch and had different appetites. One very good burger, one bowl of tortilla soup, one hot wrap and one tuna / avocado salad. We were all satisfied with our meals. In general a good value, but a bit of a trek to get there.I am sure it's a good 'locals' secret - sorry about that :-)

We were out wine tasting for the day and needed to make sure we had enough sustenance to keep going for most of the day! We were staying just around the corner from this place so it was ideal for doing just that! It's in a little little shopping centre so parking is easy and close by, and we knew it would be good when we were asked to wait for seating! It was a Saturday morning so maybe that was why but we got the impression it would always be busy here. The menu is on what looks like old news papers which is quaint. The fare is as expected for an American breakfast and lunch joint, plenty of waffles, French toast, and all the normal egg dishes. I had the French toast and my wife had the breakfast burrito, which was massive and you would have to be very very hungry to have it alone (IMO). We didn't find it cheap, but that's possibly because the rate for exchanging the pound was down at 1.19-1.21 throughout our trip, but given we didn't eat the rest of the day until the evening meal, it represented great value in the end...

The Loft Wine Bar & Restaurant - Cocktails - Restaurant - Wine Shop. We are a Full Service Restaurant and Full Bar featuring local Napa & Sonoma wines not widely available. All wines are also available for retail purchase. Families welcome, and well-behav
Nice local spot whether you're a couple out on a date night, friends catching up,or a single wanting a cozy spot to read or write your latest novel; The Loft Wine Bar is a good choice. There's a good wine list and eclectic menu. You can sit at the bar, community table or the cushy leather chairs in the corner. On a nice day there's patio seating which at the right time of day you can catch a beautiful sunset. Jason (the owner) when onsite creates a very welcoming atmosphere. He's very understandably proud of the restroom. When you go have a glass of the Zinfandel (bottled in Calistoga) and the Flatbread

This is a great restaurant in downtown Benicia. I dined here two weeks ago for lunch with some friends. We each enjoyed a different item, and all of us thought it was a great lunch. Staff is friendly, food is presented well, prices are good, and selection is quite nice -- something for everyone's palate. A hometown gem - I'll be back!

{Join us for SUNDAY BRUNCH!} The Bull Valley Roadhouse serves American roadhouse food prepared from scratch with century-old techniques using fresh ingredients from our favorite small farms. A beacon at the end of a canyon road in the historic dock town o
Dinner tonight (12/9/18) with Lori at the Bull Valley Roadhouse in Port Costa, CA.Port Costa today is what remains (after a number of different fires) of the town founded by the Central Pacific Railroad in 1879 to support the Southern landing of the railroad car ferries that carried complete trains across the Sacramento river between 1879 and 1930. Today it is not on the way to anywhere.Bull Valley describes the location of Port Costa â in a little valley or ravine with that name. The eating and bar establishment now called Bull Valley Roadhouse is a charming place more than 100 years old. It has changed hands (and names) a great many times â most recently several years ago.In its current incarnation it is a charming old place (with some accumulation of dust and spider webs) operated by mostly young people with enough culinary experience and expertise to be fairly cocky â and mostly they are. Service is excellent and very professional. The kitchen apparently has great capability â however the menu is limited and the choice of raw ingredients is sometimes baffling. For dinner tonight Lori had the Smoked Llano Seco Pork Chop and I had the Slow Roasted Llano Seco Pork Stew. Sides were Scalloped Potatoes and Braised Greens (according to the printed menu). The bread (starter) was wonderful and the butter (in a nice cup) was perfect â not hard.My Pork Stew could not have been any better. It was just great and the sauce was a bread dipperâs delight. Loriâs Pork Chop was more than 50% fat, and was swimming in a liquid that could have been melted fat or butter or ??. The potatoes were in what seemed to be a cream and butter combination that obscured the potatoes. The âBraised Greensâ (the current on-line menu I checked well after dinner says âBraised Chardâ) seemed to be either Chard or Curly Kale and was quite bitter. For dessert we shared one E. Guittard Dark Chocolate Pot de Crème â and it was wonderful and enough for two even though rather small (very rich).Everything is quite expensive for what you get, although the service is more than very good and some food items are spectacular. You will do better if you question your server about the menu items (before ordering) and ascertain in advance exactly what you will be getting.

What a fun place. So beautifully decorated for the holidays- a great festive atmosphere. Big selection of teas. Scones, cream and jam delicious. Have also had the soup there- squash is excellent, French onion not so much to my taste (it was served in a regular shallow bowl with just a sprinkling of cheese. I missed the crock with its cheesy goodness). Sandwiches are delicious especially the curry chicken salad sandwich. Fun to got there, especially for a ladies' lunch!

Upscale seafood focused restaurant housed in one of Benicia's most historic buildings steps away from the Carquinez Straight, with dramatic bay views.
Iâve been coming to Benicia for breakfast for the past several months but this was the first time here for breakfast. By far the best selection of items and best fried potatoes. Breakfast is only served Friday thru Sunday from 9:00 until 2:00. Otherwise, this is also a great lunch and dinner place 7 days a week. This is my new breakfast place in Benicia for the weekends.

Iâve been here several times and the food and service is always great. They have daily specials throughout the day, breakfast thru dinner. Breakfast was great but their red russet fried potatoes are cut up way too large which deters from a better flavor. I asked when I ordered if the cook could cut them up smaller but they said no. Fix your potatoes and Iâll rate you 5 stars next time. HI GregS,Thanks for taking the time to write about us.I'm sorry the cook didn't fix your potatoes. They should have and I will be sure to discuss your feedback with them.Thank you for your ongoing support.Best wishes,Mark KrullFirst St. Cafe
