Just visited Upstreet recently with a large group and although the place is very noisy on a Saturday night I have to say this is the best place for BBQ in the city. We started off with nachos and loved the flavour with BBQ sauce on them. My partner and I shared a half BBQ chicken and mac and cheese and had plenty left over to take home. I couldn't believe how moist and flavourful the chicken was. Hi, and thank you so very much for visiting and taking the time to leave such a wonderful review about your experience. It's truly appreciated, as is your business. ~Mike

Almost every Saturday we go here for "fish" Saturday. While the haddock filet size has gotten smaller in the last year, it us still delicious. We love the crisp fresh hot carrots and broccoli as a side. The mashed and ok (you can taste instant mixed in), but they are still satisfying. The staff are all great and are welcoming to children.

Great food, cold drinks, good times. We are a locally owned pub and restaurant specializing in great burgers, excellent fish and meals made from fresh ingredients.
We saw an ad for the Millstone in our local paper and, after a day running errands, decided to give it a try.We knew the road it was on but after driving the whole length couldnât find it. On a whim we pulled around the rear of one of the buildings and found it. I am glad we didnât give up looking. When you enter there are two sides, pub and restaurant. The pub side has a TV, pub style tables and is very warm feeling. The restaurant side is cozy and I personally think it would be a great spot for a group visit. It feels a bit like youâre in someoneâs rec room.We ordered onion rings as a starter, the haddock fillet with fries and the steak & wings with mashed for mains and a BLT with poutine to go. I tried the Nine Locks Dirty Blonde draught. The rings were really good. Not your standard batter, crispy and full. My husband said the haddock was right up there with the best heâs had. The steak was cooked perfectly and covered with a pepper sauce that also tasted really good on the mashed potatoes. The wings were very good, I would definitely like to go back and try a full order. My son enjoyed his BLT, found it very filling - so much so he couldnât eat much of his poutine. The Nine Locks was nice as well. Sara was our waitress and service was excellent in every way.We walked out very full and very satisfied. Total bill was just over 83.00 after tax, which is reasonable for what we had.I only rated it a four because of the challenge we had finding it. Apparently they normally have a sandwich board out front, but it was a windy/rainy day so they couldnât leave it out.Weâll definitely be back.
We were in the Bedford area and were looking for a nice place to eat lunch. We walked by M & Jâs and the most wonderful smells were coming from the eatery. We were warmly welcomed and offered menus. Our server was very pleasant and got us a jug of ice water. I ordered the Curry Chicken and my husband ordered the Burrito Bowl. Both meals were delicious and the serving sizes were just right. This establishment also sells ready made meals to go.M & Jâs is a great place for really good food and friendly service. We look forward to eating here, again!

The atmosphere and service at this restaurant were top notch, and food came hot and timely! There was ample parking. They are certainly accommodating to families as well! The food however was large portions, and low quality (greasy and bland). Pricing seems to be a bit off as well, some pastas are higher than you would pay at a fine dining restaurant. We work too hard for our money to return to Vernonâs unfortunately unless there are some changes!Itâs too bad as it is a great location!Wishing the owners the best in the future!

A good family restaurant. They have a wide variety of dishes to choose from. I would say it's an average restaurant, prices in the mid range.

On the plus side, this looks like the real thing - still. But I remember the food being better - maybe it's changed recently...A couple who sat down right after us got served much quicker - not that we were in a hurry, but it makes you wonder. My partner was going to order the liver & onions, but she saw one go past and changed her mind - looked thin and shoe-leathery.So she opted for the chicken pot pie...Oh dear...When the biggest chunks are the peas, there's something wrong. It looked like baby food. Even the diced carrots were cut smaller than the peas. Granted, it tasted of chicken, but it looked like the contents of a Gerber jar with an odd disk of flaky pastry perched atop. On the plus side, the pot pie came with a caesar salad, which was good. And I enjoyed my Reuben & sweet potato fries. Both were small portions, but quite tasty. On hearing my partner's description of the chicken pot pie, the waitress took it off our bill. And since the prices are good, we'd far rather pay full price and have decent food...
