The waitresses have always been very friendly and attentive. Really appreciate good Southern service! Have been here a couple times this month and love the atmosphere and the pictures of local plantations on the walls! The grilled fish combo is delicious! But it came with 2 grilled oysters which tasted terrible cooked that way. Other than steering clear of the grilled oysters, everything else was excellent!

I must be a dummy. I went to a pancake place in the afternoon looking for food. They do have limited dinner type items so I decided on the fried chicken. The crust was so hard I could hardly get it off the chicken. The dinner was just awful. If you are going to put something on the menu at least make an attempt to make it worth ordering. Not much in the area...but for non-breakfast eats.....go elsewhere.

They do get really busy at lunchtime, so I always call our food in. When I'm craving a REAL burger, I order here. Yummy! My 1st review of here was 2 years ago. Happy to say the food and service are still great!!
Blue Store USED TOO have the best fried chicken wings but went today for lunch and they are using different seasoning or ran out and just using salt because the wings were super salty and no spice. Got a side of shrimp fried rice - it had a bad taste to it couldnât eat eat. Please get your seasoning back Blue Store!

I've been to this restaurant three times and have never been disappointed. The food is absolutely delicious and the restrooms are very clean. There is always a steady flow of business as more and more people find out about this quaint, little restaurant. This restaurant serves a combination of soul food and classic comfort food. Today, I went for an early lunch and had their crab burger and onion rings. Of course, it was cooked Louisiana style, but it's the closest thing I've found to the revered Maryland crab cakes. The first time I ate there, I had a grilled shrimp salad (with bacon). It was flavorful and filling. The shrimp were cooked to perfection. I topped it off with bread pudding, which was topped with rum sauce and absolutely delicious. Last Sunday, I had a southern delicacy, chitterlings. They were very clean, tender and flavorful, but expensive, which is understandable because chitterlings are quite labor intensive. No matter what you select, you won't be disappointed. The best thing of all is every second Friday of the month, the restaurant converts to a supper club around 9:45 p.m. They feature excellent live jazz and R&B favorites, but you have to make a reservation because this is standing room only! I am extremely pleased with this restaurant.
Passed by quite a few times so I decided to stop glad I did I tried the fried mushrooms they were well seasoned fried just right not oily at all the ranch compliments these well also had a hamburger good ground beef seasoned just right juicy and tender over great food

Went to this place and fell head over heels in love. I had an overstuffed fried shrimp poboy and indeed it was overstuffed and delicious!! The catfish was amazing, it didn't have that super fresh fishy taste and was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Their boudin and alligator balls were also great. My family and I have established an agreement where every time we visit Louisiana, it is a requirement to stop by this place. It's a small restaurant, but the food is great and full of flavor. Don't let the size of the place fool you! I encourage all to try it.

Zachary is a small town with not a whole lot to offer in a culinary way, so I am not surprised people are happy with this place. It IS better than fast food. First off...my wife is born and bread Southern Louisiana. Her review..."Yuk." Add insult to injury, our server would flat disappear at times and it took forever to get our food. The place was not busy. The only saving grace was they had some excellent Louisiana brews on tap. I have been to other Sammy's. The food was slightly better, but the service was much much better.
Everytime that I've stopped by I have been told to wait in the parking lot for my food to be brought out. The wait is sometime 15 minutes or more. On several occasions, I've had to walk back inside to get my order as they had forgotten about me. The parking lot is always full mof customers waiting to get their orders.

Had a nice lunch here with friends. Not the most diet-friendly place, but I did find some things on the menu that were not fried or battered. Nothing fancy, but good bayou cooking.
