As my title says - burgers and cocktails - what more do you need? My husband, who is really more of a beer man, decided he has a new favourite taste in life - the mojito and he will now be ordering them regularly!Food was tasty, service friendly, all good. Recommended.

Had Bratwurst Plate and the sauerkraut was very good. Bratwurst was good too, and service was fast. However, there was about a 30 minute wait to get seated, even though we requested first available and outside was OK. Wife liked the Manhattan Chowder. Fish and chips looked good, but didn't have chance to try it. This was interesting place to eat, but like most restaurants during the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF), were very busy at dinnertime.

Smithfields Restaurant and Bar located in Ashland, Oregon is a neighborhood steakhouse restaurant and bar which specializes in sustainable nose to tail dining (utilizing the whole animal) and in-house charcuterie.
The menu is full of distinctive and intriguing offerings, such as a goat cheese soufflé and charred romaine with an aioli dressing. Service was attentive and hospitable. The outdoor patio very comfortable (ask for cushion for chair), well lit, and tables spaced apart for quiet and privacy. Nice wine list: not often in the US does one find a Gigondas on offer. Prices are not modest, but value is good. Weâd return.

With one night in Ashland we spent some time reviewing a nice place to have a meal and bottle of wine and selected Alchemy. Welcome was nice but the service was very poor. We were served by someone (blonde lady) who had very little interest in or understanding of the menu. Simple questions couldnât be answered (she didnât even know the WiFi password) and nobody was on hand to answer any questions on the wine. The food was decent, I feel bad that the kitchen is let down by such bad service. Garbage was dragged through the restaurant while we were eating, staff were shouting across the restaurant at each other. Just not an atmosphere befitting of the price tag. After dinner we fancied a desert, there was no desert menu and the waitress didnât know what was on offer. As soon as we managed to get a desert we were being ushered out of the restaurant (it was only 9.30pm at this point, there was at least 1 other couple and we had half a bottle of wine left to drink). Then the waitressâ boyfriend arrived and she was at the bar like a guest, it was impossible to get her attention. When the cheque arrived, despite the above experience I left a 16% gratuity (feeling that the kitchen deserved some credit) on a large bill and heard the staff call out that we were stingy! The waitress told the lady at the bar âthose two at the back are stingyâ I was absolutely gobsmacked at the attitude and impression that they had done a good job. I regret leaving so much. I wanted to speak to someone about my experience but by 10pm there was no one else on the premises to speak to. Just a very disappointing experience, very overpriced, our waitress just shouldnât be in the service industry.

We had a stunning meal last night before the show. Splendid fried chicken and steak. The sturgeon served on top of a creamy corn sauce was incredible. Do not miss their chocolate sundae -- one of the best desserts I've ever had. The glass is lined with a frozen dark chocolate then filled with vanilla ice cream and hazelnuts, topped with a little whipped cream and blueberries. Out. Of. This. World! This was our best meal in Ashland this trip. Fantastic service from the waitstaff and busgirl, Bravo!

We seek the finest ingredients, utilizing organic, small-producer items. Shaded outdoor dining in summer months. Voted Best New, Oregon 2002 by Northwest Palate.
Generally, we liked this restaurant, although the ambiance was not so special. It was raining and we were in the outside, covered section. Some drops of water were hitting us occasionally. It was chilly and the propane heaters were somewhat problematic. The crispy sweetbreads, which I confirmed with the waitress to be crispy, came to me uncrispy. I sent them back to be made correctly. The waitress mentioned that some people disapproved of them being too crispy, whence I replied "crispy is basically crispy; no ifs ands or buts." Anyway, the dish came back, and I enjoyed it, although the accompanying gastric was not acidic enough. We had the roasted chicken entree. The truffle-flavored, roasted game hen was excellent; the potato puree was too pasty; the sauce/jus was very tasty. Limited but serviceable wine selections.
