Our previous report covered breakfast. We were back for dinner. We tried the Greek Specialties offered and immensely enjoyed our selections of salads and a sandwich which was eaten open-face.. Other menu items includeda rack of lamb for under $18.00 with numerous items priced on the lower end.. This is not a Greek Restaurant per se and has many typical American dishes. The glass of wine was good and the pour generous..

Enjoy our "Southern Roadhouse Hospitality" in our St. Louis Restaurant along with the food and music that we have selected from this section of Highway 61. Whether it's the great seafood and spicy Cajun foods along with Jazz and Zydeco from Louisiana, the
I took my wife and 8 year old to eat a Mother's Day brunch here. The brunch was buffet style and had scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage, cheesy hashbrowns, grits (cajun and cheese) and a few other breakfast items. Also on the buffet was catfish, smoked fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, rib tips, pulled pork, and a few other items. The food was VERY good. I was impressed. Our waitress was nice and attentive. I didn't care much for the catfish and my cheesy hash browns were not great but the rest of the food was VERY VERY good. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful and probably my favorite. I wanted to have a second helping of breakfast because it was sooo good but I also wanted the lunch items too. You can also order omelettes and pancakes to order. The wife had a pancake and she said it was fantastic. There's a dessert bar as well but I didn't have any room for that ! I also noticed there was a bloody Mary bar. I think that was an extra $4 or so. This place has live music on the weekends so we'll be back for that. I would highly recommend Highway 61 Roadhouse and kitchen ESPECIALLY for brunch which it appears they have every Sunday. Thanks for bringing your family in on Mother's Day! And yes, we have our all you can eat brunch every Sunday. We look forward to having you back to enjoy our live music on the weekends.

Wife, mother-in-law, and I visited recently. My wife goes there occasionally, it was my first time in years. We wanted steak and my wife seems to like it there, and we were in the area. Mother-in-law "likes" her steak well-done, so I'm excluding her data from the sample, for obvious reasons. She didn't say much about it one way or the other anyway. My wife and I each had the bacon-wrapped filet, hers medium, mine medium rare. In my case that means one side was cooked acceptably (closer to medium) and the other side barely hit the heat at all (rare to raw). My wife's steak looked like a legit piece of beef actually, so her lucky day I guess - pretty good, to be fair. Mine was another story, parts of it I could not cut with the steak knife, large amount of gristle. Honestly I imagine I could find a better steak just about anywhere else. The quality just seemed very inconsistent. I ate about half and took the rest home to gnaw on a few bites and discard the rest. So why not send it back and deal with that whole scenario ? Well, to the point, mother-in-law was buying and I did not want to make her feel bad. So it didn't cost me anything, I've got that going for me.Otherwise, the atmosphere was decent if not a bit cramped, but clearly there was no effort at presentation whatsoever from salad (nothing special) to entree. Got some dinner rolls once my wife asked. Next time I'm in the area and feel like beef, will probably head a few blocks up the street to Lion's Choice.

Went to Russell's for brunch on Sunday. The place was somewhat crowded, but only had to wait a half-hour. I had biscuits and gravy, and so did my daughter. Sausage gravy was just spicy enough, biscuits were fluffy and delicious, with a nice runny yolk egg on top. My daughter and I both loved it. My wife had an egg sandwich, she said it was very good.My daughter's friend had flatbread, and it was excellent too. All waitstaff were friendly and professional. We all shared a huge cinnamon roll as an appetizer. Also excellent.Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Where do I begin? No mint for a mojito even though the mojito is on their cocktail menu (this is July and NOT January so cannot imagine why fresh mint is unavailable); a VO and water with a twist came out as VO and 7 with a wedge of lime; wedge salads served without bacon; however, the waiter noticed on the way to table and went back and brought a bowl of bacon; and the dessert tray featured crème brulee but after ordering, we were informed they were out. Waiter had a great attitude but seemed unsure about answering menu questions. We had menu questions as the menu is very limited in information; e.g., spinach salad but no explanation of garnishes or what is on the spinach salad. The food took quite awhile to arrive after our salads were finished. As there was no crème brulee, we ordered the chocolate bundt cake and a boxed cake mix would taste better--it was very artificially flavored. Twice baked potato was only average. We do not plan to return.Teresa, thank you for taking the time to review your recent experience. We apologize for the disappointment that you left with after your meal. We would like to make this right, and hope that you will provide us with your contact information so we are able to speak to you about this visit in more detail.

It's been five years since have been here. This time I was doing a girl friend's weekend and we had tickets to the St Louis Rep which was close by. Besides it's close proximity to the theater, it offered gluten free items and farm to market. I made reservations for Saturday night at 6 pm. The place offers a good wine list. A few of us took advantage of the "trio" flight special, 3 half glasses of wine ($14). There was a selection of three types of trio (white, red, and pinot) It was a nice way to taste three wine brands I wasn't familiar with. The food menu split up from small plates (hot and cold,& specials) the same with large plates. So there is price options that range for $5 for soups, salads) to $13.50 for small plates and $13.50-$26 for large plates.) We had to admit it was hard to choose, it all sounded delicious from the description. We did mention this to our waiter, and his response is "then you have to come back again to try something else." That did bring a grin to our faces. Our waiter was very good, he knew the menu, the specials listed and what wines they were out of. I ended up selecting the braised pork shoulder in apple cider with roasted Brussels sprouts and mashed sweet potatoes. ($18.90). The large plate portions were generous and the flavors were there. Others had the Big Sky Blue Cheese Burger ($13.50) they seemed to like it very much. One of my friends ordered a small dish of spaghetti squash in an amazing cheese sauce. And of course we had to fit dessert in there somewhere. They had various baked goods (Chocolate Cherry Pie) and homemade ice cream. I had the ice cream which was apple cinnamon flavored. Highly recommend this place. Thanks so much for your detailed review Carol! There is so much more to be sampled, so I agree with your server - you should come back! :)Thanks again and happy new year,Kelly DonovanMarketing & Communications

When ordering food at this place, it always comes just as one ordered it. For, example, eggs are always precisely as ordered. The cooks here are really good. So, are the servers. One of my favorite dishes is called a Fiesta Skillet. It is a heavenly breakfast, but it can be ordered at any time of day.

Family Restaurant celebrating 27 years with extensive menu. Newly remodeled. Over 50 Burgers to choose from. 6 oz. 9 oz. or 15 oz. $8.00 Lunch Specials, Homestyle Platters, Sandwiches, Salads, Appetizers, Pastas, Fried Twinkies (8 varieties), Fried Cheese
This place is a knockout when it comes to burgers. The menu is very extensive, and the quality is quite outstanding. The Sticky Burger is my favorite. Jalapeno jelly and peanut butter makes this burger hard to beat. For dessert, the maple and bacon deep fried Twinkie is unbeatable. Lots and lots of bacon on it.

This burger joint is in the middle of a residential neighborhood. They have two sides for seating. One with a bar that looked packed and then the side that we sat in that was a big open space. There are tvâs so you can watch sports. If you go on a Monday night (which we did) burgers are buy one get $5 off a second one. Staff was friendly and our server Kristen J. was nice and very attentive.
