Beach bar and restaurant offers you local and italian breakfast, lunch, happy hours and dinner in front of the ocean. You can find also a kitesurf school "JungleKite" with professional instructors, a fun shop and a diving center.
we chose this bar restaurant mainly because of the roof-top providing a good shelter from the beach boys along with a good view from the ground. food was nice, only the sea food carbonara seamed somehow ...strange, but everything else was nice. kind staff and good shade during the afternoon.

The Rooftop restaurant is open for all public and located at The Swahili House. They offer breakfast, lunch specials and an a la carte menu.
I passed there twice for cold drinks during happy hour. Besides proper service, one can enjoy a nice view over Stonetown and enjoy the architecture of an old swahili palace.

Having lived in Ethiopia, and in DC (where one can find amazing Ethiopian food), we were sorely disappointed with our food and service at this Stone town eatery. The food was marginal. The wait staff was not attentive (maybe even rude). The service was slow. In fairness, I suppose some of the service issues could have been language issues, but I would have a hard time recommending that anyone eat there. If you haven't ever had Ethiopian food, you might enjoy this place - as it resembles what you might think you would have if you went to an Ethiopian restaurant. With all of the amazing experiences you can have while visiting Zanzibar, it would be easy to choose to skip this one.

At Zafarani, we believe dining should be an experience. Our chefs have carefully curated a unique culinary journey to be explored, course by course. Join us for lunch or dinner and enjoy Zanzibar's authentic seafood dishes that bring out their best. Our r
We fell in this cute little restaurant along ShanganiStreet, Stonetown...looking only for a seafood snack the friendly owner Phillip at once offered alternatives in size of all delicious dishes. The taste of f.e.lobster and octopus was amazing, africanstyle and very yummy. The interior Design of that place is stylish, modern but uniquly African. Remarkable is the friendly and modest way of service.

I had eaten there twice. For lunch and dinner. Once had the prawns curry and the other time have grilled prawns with garlics and olive oil. They both are nice with good portion. Fresh juice is recommend as well.

Came here with a girl from my hostel for a light dinner after visiting Prison island. We both got a vegetarian dish which included a chickpea curry, rice and some vegetables. The quantity wasn`t a lot but it was sufficient for us both.

I loved this restaurant! When I travel I try to eat at different restaurants as much as possible, but we ate at 6 Degrees South almost every night during our 5-day, 4-night stay. The first night in Zanzibar we went to this restaurant and absolutely loved it! The food was great and it has a great view of the ocean. The waitstaff are also extremely friendly and accommodating. They made sure we enjoyed the food and weâre having a good time. We often tried other restaurants during lunch, but never liked the food as much as this place so we always returned for dinner. If you eat here you will not be disappointed! Hi, thank you for the awesome review and 5 stars! We're so pleased you had a great time with us, and that we were able to welcome you to our restaurant during your entire stay! Thank you for recommending us - we hope to welcome you back to 6 Degrees South very soon!Kind Regards,Sabeeha

The Emerson Spice Rooftop Tea House Restaurant serves a set Seafood based, five course 'Taste Safari' Degustation Menu prepared daily by our Zanzibari Chefs. The Sunset Hour is an integral part of the experience, so Diners are encouraged to arrive at any
The climb up to the restaurant was over 4 flights of stairsIt was a unique experience Roof top dining With traditional music Food was average to goodVery limited menuGo for the experienceThank you for reviewing us here - and for pointing out the four flights of stairs, one is certainly worth ones calories reaching the tea house! Both the Emerson hotels are located in heritage buildings within the UNESCO listed Stone Town, so elevators are off limits for us. Mentioning the traditional music, We believe you are referring to our sister hotel Emerson on Hurumzi though, most nights musicians from the Show Countries Music Academy perform traditional Tara music in the tea house restaurant, accompanying a set menu designed to marry the culture and style of the building with the distinct culinary heritage of the era.

LOCAL FOOD at LOCAL PRICE Delicious local food in a typical local stone town building with cozy and chilling ambiance, including a variety of drinks and beverages. We also serve different types of coffees, shakes and smoothies.
The food never disappoints. My second time from my first visit in 2018.Owner is indian...the team is all sk friendly and great.Cant have high expectations its local style and you need to be flexible and easy! Example...our bread reached much earlier than the food. The bread is made fresh so much more enjoyable warm!We ordered a seafood curry and a shrimp curry dish that came with french friends. We ordered a 2 plain naan and 1 butter naan and paid 32,000tzs The shrimp curry with chips was my favorite neither was spicy but both rich in flavour in their own unique way. Simply amazing and highly recommended!!!! Dont miss this restaurant it's a must try if you're in stonetown!

The highest "tea house" restaurant in Zanzibar town is located in Emerson on Hurumzi and has breathtaking 360* views of Stonetown and the Indian Ocean. The rooftop Tea House Dinner Experience offers cocktails at the sunset hour, dinner celebrating the ple
We like to find a special spot for our last evening on a trip, and the images of Emerson on Hurumzi made the choice easy. This was a very different experience from any we'd had in Zanzibar before. We sat on the floor on the rooftop and were served a fixed menu. We had an hour of sundowners cocktails then were introduced to the evenings events. They served what would have been a traditional wedding feast - a lot of delicious and unusual foods. The meal was accompanied by a local musical group who entertained us with traditional music. All in all a great way to celebrate the culture of Zanzibar.
