Things to do in Nanyuki Town
We went at abt 3.30 only for the waiters to come 10mins later took our orders which was just basic nothing complicated including tea/coffee and by 5pm we had not been served mind you we had kids. They never even bother to sell to us any drink. To say the least the waiters were totally disinterested in serving us. Good place but the waiters will run the place down!
We were on the way to lunch and thought we would have a quick drink stop.Bar is at the back and we sat upstairs on the thin deck.Cheap drinks and food smelt good although we did not stay. Was a nice local bar with a good atmosphere.
The hotel restaurant has friendly staff and a wide menu choice. I'm not sure if I just chose an off-day, but the curry I ordered was really not good. Avoid the chicken korma unless you like it as a dish with lots of curry powder and salt with peanuts! However, the pizza I had the next day was very good and redeemed the situation! It's a place with a lot of space and it's quiet, so good for catching up with a group of people or to relax on your own.
My partner and I stopped for quick sit down dinner. I ordered a Cafe Lattè which came in a takeaway cup but I was sitting down. When I asked why, all I got was sorry. Then we ordered Ben's Burgers which was dry and no cheese. The chef argued that he put the minimum amount that he was allowed too and when I opened my burger to show him there was nothing.. He brought some in a plate... Very disappointing because I expect same level of service and foods from all Java's. And I make a point of visiting a Java on all my Kenya trips...
They have the best paneer samosas in the country! The rest of their food is great too, especially the rice and kaju paneer. They also deliver to me 20km away! The restaurant itself is welcoming and unpretentious, a nice break from the image-obsessed hipster dining experience which is ubiquitous in Nairobi. The only things that were average were the naan and paneer tikka - probably due to the lack of a real tandoor.
This beautiful and idyllic eco-resort was personally created and entirely hand-made by Marcel and Susan. Marcel is a true all-round renaissance man who was the architect of Tandala, and it is impressive how he created and built this entire place all by himself from the ground up. Susan at his side has been the perfect host all along. Tandala is a superbly designed small-scale eco-resort with two eco-lodges, thereby ensuring highly personalized service with a human touch; there is also a separate restaurant while a golf-course is slowly in the making. These two great hosts do everything for you, so make sure that you discuss your detailed travel-wishes, expectations, and desires in advance of your stay so that they can organize a fully tailor-made experience. For example, they can bring you to safaris, waterfalls, historic landmarks, etc. Or, alternatively, if you prefer, they can also leave you sitting quietly on your own terrace of your personal eco-lodge and enjoy mount Kenya and star-gazed nights in the tranquility of the nice little river adjacent to the lodge. Tailor-made barbeques can also be organized. For the true lover of Africa who is not in a rush but rather prefers to return to nature, and not be disturbed by internet, bars, or anything of that sort, this is the place to be. It is also possible to camp outside in a tent if you prefer to be even closer to nature. I totally recommend this place for those who seek quiet and adventure. Thank you Marcel and Susan.
The guest house has 3 spacious rooms on double and single accommodation, on bed and breakfast, half board and full-board basis. They all have televisions with digital cable channels via DSTV. We also have beautiful campsite grounds that cater to overland
This guest house is a lovely lovely gem tucked away on the Narumoru - Nanyuki Road - Same Entrance as Anka Resort. The staff are very friendly, the guest house is very clean and well taken care off. The grounds are so so beautiful! and the view of Mt. Kenya on a clear morning is excellent! Nyokabi and the other gentleman whose name i forget made the place feel like home. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good break and a lovely lovely place. I will definitely go back.

Visited here when staying with fiances mum who lives down the road. Not advertised anywhere - as far as I can tell, but popular with the locals. (I'm currently updating trip advisor with all the places I visited in Nanyuki).
We visited whilst passing and found the bar area to be warm, with good service and a good range of beers and spirits. The menu is limited and not very inspiring. We did however, decide to eat here. The food was decidedly average and the service time to deliver to the table took over one hour. I would happy recommend the bar, but give to food a miss.

Named in memory of Ol Pejetaâs most famous rhino ambassador, Moraniâs was named one of the top 20 amazing places to eat in Kenyaâ! Itâs not hard to see why. Conveniently located at the Information Centre, weâre the perfect halfway stop during an adventure
We stopped for a mid-afternoon coffee, and found that the place had been very popular at lunchtime because very few of the tables had been cleared even though they were empty!Service was well-intentioned but slow. We had a beer, ginger tea and water, plus a mince pie (well it was just after Christmas) and some billionaire's shortbread that was tasty but could have provided plenty of extra income for the dental profession! (Lovely toffee layer, but oh so hard!) Alsacienne - we are sorry that you experienced slow service and we shall address this and appreciate your comments. I apologise for the delay in reply but we had seen your comment when posted. Please come back and see us again!
