Maputo, the lush capital of Mozambique, sits on the shore of the Indian Ocean. Founded as a port town by the Portuguese, the influence of travelers and traders from Africa, Asia, and Europe, has made the city a diverse and lively metropolis. The area is famous for its prawns in peri-peri sauce, a spicy concoction made from an especially hot African chili pepper. Calm down your taste buds afterwards with a beer at one of the many bars and nightclubs in the Fere de Populare neighborhood.

It is one of my favorite restaurants in Maputo. Great place, great food, nice staff and a lot of space, including it is parking. It is expensive indeed, but Maputo is an expensive African city. They can handle well a group of friends or a business lunch or dinner. If do not want to take risks or get disappointed it is the best place.

Since 1958, Marisol Restaurant has been famous for its legendary LM prawns; today we are proud to continue this tradition. All seafood is bought locally from the Catembe fishermen. Be sure to try the chef´s daily suggestion created around seasonal ingredi
Very beautiful restaurant and Lounge with amazing atmosphere and most friendly and welcoming service. Best to go without car and walk at the beach or be picked up by the hotel to avoid waiting for the ferry boat to cross. The perfect getaway from Maputo.

Start off the day with a spring in your step by enjoying a hearty meal consisting of aromatic, beautiful dishes at KWETU. This establishment pays significant homage to East Africa, and is a simple restaurant in Maputo which offers an array of dishes - fro
this is the first restaurant we visited during our stay in Maputo, we asked for vegan meals, so the Guy from Rwanda recommended us Matapa, Pupmkin food, lovely chapati bread, samosa and rice. we really enjoyed our meal and time in this restaurant. the price is also mid-range, not expensive and not cheap
We strongly believe that the choices we make about our food, how its prepared and where it comes from has direct impact on our health. We are also very passionate about the mozambican gastronomy, the influences it has from different cultures and its diver
This place serves great wraps and even better cocktails. The owner was very nice and the quality was good, especially for the price.
A secret garden in the middle of busy Maputo city, where you can chill and enjoy our prime cocktails or a glass of one of our selected wines. Our chefs use fresh seasonal ingredients, keeping the menus fresh and current. The food is simple, honest and del
Chic and relaxed spot! The restaurant has a garden that guarantees privacy and charm, without being pretentious. The food is different from the the usual, with world flavors beyond the typical Portuguese food that is repeatedly found in Maputo. You will find dishes that are innovative fusions between asian and creolle, portuguese and mozambican, moroccan and vegetarian. There are vegetarian options and the cocktails are delicious.I recommend Vegan Apa and basil gin as my favorites.Inside the restaurant there is a beautiful shop with many decorative items, clothes and shoes made in Mozambique at nice prices, too.Thank you very much for such a great review! We work really hard to offer the best food in the best possible environment, so we are very happy to see that reflected on your last visit. Hope to see you again soon!

We went there for a late breakfast and we ordered chicken breast sandwich and eggs with beef. Both were super tasty. The service were very good and everything we might need was brought to the table we had as well a homemade pri pri sauce which was so tasty and chili. The river view was nice and prices were reasonable comparing to other restaurants with same view and service

The food purchased from the market and cooked at a restaurant was nice - but I highly recommend to go elsewhere. As a tourist I was there with two locals and even still when the restaurant bill arrived (after buying Fish from the market) EVERYTHING was charged more than the menu, up to double! It was a blatant attempt to steal from us and we had to ânegotiateâ for half an hour to get the prices back to what was on the menu, and of course argue over the weight of the fish theyâd cooked for us even tho weâd just seen the weight on a scale when purchased. If you do come here (which I donât recommend) make sure you see the menu before ordering and KEEP that menu as otherwise when the bill arrives the prices will likely be higher and youâll be show a different menu at that time to account for the higher prices.Of course not all the restaurants might be like this; but Iâd guess there are.Just as good food elsewhere for equal or better value and much, much less hassle. When leaving I pointed to the revised bill saying to the waiter that this is why Iâll be recommending not to visit here, and he just laughed. So definitely not recommended.

We were a group of six and ordered a variety of starters and mains. The clams starter was pretty tasty but the standout was the meat samosas. We also ordered a starter of garlic shrimp but they never came and fortunately we weren't charged for them. I ordered fried calamari for my main course but received grilled calamari which came with potatoes, cabbage, and greens on the side. The calamari was pretty average. Others had prawns which they seemed to like. Those who ordered the piri-piri chicken ended up receiving plain chicken with the piri-piri on the side. Overall I'd say it's filling and a pretty good value but you can definitely do better in Maputo.

One of the best meals i had in Maputo, and I just had to go back again once more even though i was only in town for a couple of days and there were a lot of other places i hadn't tried yet.. The place is also kid friendly - even at night, as I went for dinner both times with my 4 and 2 year old kids. Vanessa (the lovely waitress that waited on us both times) was so welcoming and even remembered what each of us ordered about 5 days ago!!Thank you very much for such a great review! We work really hard to offer the best food in the best possible environment, so we are very happy to see that reflected on your last visit. Hope to see you again soon!
