It is a nice resort on a bank of the Zambezi river (Zambian side). Lovely "Africa" design, cool atmosphere, sometimes you may even see hippos and water lizards coming from the river. They are not dangerous, the resort is well protected. And the restaurant is cool!

Excellent tour through the Danbwa Central Markets (largest in Livingstone) Henry takes you on a colorful culinary tour of Zambia presenting so many local dishes from the countries many local tribes. So many foods and flavors I had never tried before, served with delightful enthusiam and stories. Henry catered for vegan no problem, so much food it was impossible to eat all. Wish I had done this at the beginning of my stay so I could have known how to prepare more local food. If I come back I will do the cooking class too.Thank you for your lovely review Odette, It was my pleasure to share the market and Zambian cuisine with you! It was also great to learn more about vegan diets thank you. I hope one day to be as good to dine with as your mother! Wishing you safe journey for the rest of your travels. Stay Blessed, Henry.

The Gemstone is a gourmet grill restaurant. We offer steaks, Souvlaki (small kebabs), burgers, wraps, desert crepe and more. All prepared on our specially designed grill. Special items on the menu include crocodile (kebabs and wraps), freshwater crayfish,
Recently went to this establishment, nice atmosphere, staff reasonably attentive. We were a group of 12 , ordered our food, but had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes before we could collect it. Food was good and tasty. We were the only people in the Restaurant at the time. Like the old school reports - could do better. Thanks for your review. There are mosquitos all over Livingstone. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about that, unless we 'nuke' the whole place with chemicals... We do provide insect repellent, and that does keep the buggers at bay.We prepare our food fresh; we do not heat up food that has been prepared in advance. Preparing food fresh does take a bit of time. Usually it takes about 45 minutes on average to prepare the food. If you order 'thick cut' T-bone (it is about 4 - 5cm thick!) it may take a bit longer as it is easy to burn the outside if too much heat is applied. And if there is a group, we usually wait till the food of the last person has been prepared before we call the group to collect their order at the grill. In that way everybody in the group starts the meal at the same time.We do our best to serve as quickly as possible. We pride ourselves to serve good, tasty food. Even if that takes a bit longer. That said, I will look into the issue of saving time (where that is possible) without compromising the quality.

Unfortunately the goat meat was dry and hard, didn't enjoy it. The tilapia was nice and tasty. My favourite delicacy was without doubt mopani worms and kapenta fish. Service was a bit slow though the waiter was very nice and friendly.

The natural ambience in the midst of peaceful surroundings, extremely courteous customer service, decent food item choices, great taste, reasonable pricing with an overall good value for money are the key reasons for my rating. Certainly would very highly recommend.

We ate here a couple of times while staying at the attached accommodation. The highlight is the setting - you can either sit under a large mango tree, in booths under cover or bar like seating - all surrounding a nice outdoor area. The menu was also comprehensive and offered some good options. Their chicken burger stood out as a highlight!
