No reservation is possible, so get there early as the place fills quickly. Tables are close together and the diners chat together easily which makes for a pleasant atmosphere in an otherwise rather unprepossessing premises.
Firstly the description for this excellent eatery should be changed, as it is more a small restaurant as opposed to a snack bar. Visited there 3 times last week (7 of us) Over the 3 nights I had lamb chops, grilled rabbit and Steak, each dish was excellently cooked and delicious to the taste. The menu changes daily, and is very reasonably priced. The starters (or covers) consisted of fresh crusty bread, olives, goats cheese drizzled with honey and walnuts and a bowl of beef jerky. Both Vanessa and the chef Evu are very friendly and conscientious about their food. We will be back as soon as we can

Under NEW management of the Grapevine. We offer a varity of South African and popular dishes. Come in and try us !
This place has so much going for it! The restaurant itself is pleasant, comfortable and spacious, and the Caravela theme works well. The South African family running things are so friendly, helpful and very efficient. The two waitresses were very busy the Friday night we visited, but you'd not know it from their relaxed, smiling, attentive manner. And, yes, the chef came out to see us - twice. The first time to ask how we wanted our steaks and chops cooked; the second to enquire how we'd found them. The answer was a very positive and unequivocal thumbs up: he steaks were fantastic - and extremely generous in size. We had a really enjoyable time/meal, and are impressed at how much they have achieved there in so comparatively little time. Recommended most strongly and unreservedly!
